Bad timing for a broken leg!

That sucks, Peggy! Hopefully he will still perform. He doesn't need his legs to sing and play guitar, right :-)
I just moored my boat up with 30 minutes to spare before the toppler started and heard a drunken woman on the boat driving past us shout "Hello Tossers!" (remember our boat is called Tosher), so I stuck my head out and shouted "Same to you!". Which made me chuckle inside. The woman's face was a picture. She laughed, then sheepishly apologised.
I've just been out with my new Wildlife of Britain book trying to identify some of the flora and fauna next to where I'm moored. It's so overgrown. I won't bore you with all the details but one of them turned out to be one of the most poisonous plants in Europe - Hemlock Water-dropwort. I'll be staying away from that then!

I agree! Stay away from that and it's really cool that you are learning all that stuff, espcially since your scenery changes often. Is that plant poisonous if you touch (like poison ivy) or just if you eat it?
It's poisonous when eaten. Kills a lot of cattle each year as they accidentally graze on it. Pretty sure it was used by criminals as poison back in the day.
It's amazing how many plants we use in landscaping because they are beautiful that are actually poisonous. I guess we're just copying nature!
Bummer, Peggy :( Will they reschedule? Or will you be able to get a refund?
I'm sorry they cancelled :(
Not sure Stephanie. I hope they will reschedule. We will get costs for plane tickets and hotel back through travel insurance.I feel especially bad for my boyfriend. It's his favourite band by far and I got him the tickets as a surprise. He was really looking forward to it and although he doesn't say so, I can see how disappointed he is :(
Sorry Peggy. I can rebember when Skorpion's last tour cancelled his presentation in my city. I was sulken for 6 months! You will have another chances though...
That is one heck of a present! I've never flown anywhere for a concert. I'm sorry it got canceled as well, but this has to qualify for "It's the thought that counts," right?
Sorry to hear that Peggy. That's good you could get the money back for the flights and hotel. Let's hope it's rescheduled. My niece was going to the same gig as you.
Too bad for your niece too Sarah :(I hope it will be rescheduled. One the ticket-website it says that Friday there will be news about refunds, I hope that does not mean there will be no new concert.
Other news is that I'm handing in my dissertation tomorrow! I feel nervous and excited. Just have to do some final things with the lay-out and it's done. I feel like I want to spend more weeks looking it over and over and over, but I guess I have to send it out at some point.
That's great, Peggy. Probably you'll always feel like looking at it just one more time. Good luck tomorrow!
Oh I just read he's having surgery. That makes a bit more sense. Still sucks for you guys though.WHOOOOHOOOOOOO PEGGY!!! Fricking amazing!
Do what you need to do to fix it up tonight. Send it in, and then DO NOT LOOK AT IT AGAIN. Just let it go, set it free, whatever other laboured metaphor you would like, and relax. SO bloody awesome!
I'm sure a rescheduling will depend on how many shows they have to cancel. Could get to the point where they pile up to an amount just too hard to do, vut if any band on the concert can find a way to make it all right it will be the Foo Fighters. You don't get to be arguably the biggest band on the planet by crapping on fans. Plus was ot going to be at Wembley? That is probably the best venue in the world so if any woyld be rescheduled I'm sure that would be top of the list

That's great about your dissertation Peggy! Congratulations!
Fingers crossed that the gig will get rescheduled. I think it's pretty likely that it will.
Yay Peggy!!! SO happy for you! :)I'm sure the refunds will work out for you, especially based on what Travis has said. Sounds like your venue will be near the top to be rescheduled.
Thanks for all your enthusiasm, you're making me smile! :DIt makes sense about the rescheduling, and knowing FF, they will indeed do everything they can to make it up to their fans.
Congratulations on finishing your dissertation, Peggy! That is so awesome!Even though the FF concert is off (for now), you need to do something to celebrate!
I thought we could binge-watch FF dvd's on Saturday evening ;-)We have a whole empty weekend ahead of us now, I think we will do something fun to celebrate finishing the dissertation and to comfort ourselves because of the cancelled concert.

Yes, go out and enjoy yourselves! You both deserve it! :) How long is it until you go on holiday?
Woohoooo on finishing your dissertation, Peggy! I agree with Rusalka - one last lookie-loo, then send it in. Congratulations!
We are leaving tomorrow for my brothers graduation from CRNA school (nurse anesthetist). He is going to school in southern Florida (struggle). I am looking forward to a couple of days on the beach or by the pool. So probably not much posting for me this weekend.

Ooh, that's really exciting Peggy! I bet you can't wait?!

It's exciting and also a bit scary at the same time. It's been a long time since we were in a country that is so different from what we're used to. I've been reading so many strange/funny/scary things about Cuba in the past weeks. So I'm looking forward to it, but sometimes I also wonder why we decided to go there ;-)

I completely understand, it's always a little scary going somewhere new and different. My mum's friend went there last year and she was a little bit apprehensive initially but they had a wonderful time and she has said that she would go back there in an instant if she had the chance :)
