Ah well, I'll be sad today and start searching again tomorrow.

Oh, Peggy!! I'm so so sorry to hear the house sold :( but that just means there is a better house out there for you :-)

Totally agree. I think we got ripped off buying this house as we were bullied into making an offer that day we saw it. In hindsight, it was a good call as if we had missed this op we wouldn't have bought for a little while and the market exploded in price (most our friends have been priced out of the market until now, which is 8 years later), but I felt so annoyed and frustrated with it for a long time.

I guess we'll have to get used to it. I assume that all houses that are put online in the coming weeks/months and have our interest, are also of interest to many others. Unfortunately all the ones that have been online for a longer time (and for which you can take your time deciding and bargaining) have too many things 'wrong' with them.

Janice, I agree with everyone, living space is where you will spend most of the time. good luck!

Are there more interested parties in your apartments Janice?

Peggy, keeping my fingers crossed that you will find the perfect house!

As far as I am aware it was written in Spanish first and then got translated into English.

@Sarah. I had to chuckle at your "ingrained" pun, intentional or not.
I dreamt about the basement suite and my client all night. Then, about 6:30 this morning a friend phoned and asked why I wasn't buying a house. It's a long convoluted story involving my ex not getting my name off the mortgage for the farm which means my debt ratio is too high to even consider applying for another mortgage. So now I'm second guessing myself. I invited her along to help measure and size things up. Maybe she'll see that it's the right solution for me for this point in my life. She did say something that gnaws at my stomach - moving is such a pain! Do I want to move now and then again in a year or two or three? That's why I was holding off in the first place. And now I'm talking myself in circles again.
Sarah, you asked about using my dresser somewhere else. That's a possibility. I could maybe fit it into what will be my office, and use it for piling paper and archive boxes. I don't want to feel too cramped in my main working space though. There is a crawl space under the entire living room. I certainly won't be crawling into it, but will slide tubs around the periphery of it where they are easily accessed.
Oh, did I tell you that my landlord is a client? He's going to build a box to sit on the deck by my door so clients can leave/pick up paperwork if I'm not home? I suspect he'll be using it since I told him he'll be assigned the official courier role for his company.

The crowds weren't ridiculously bad so we were able to ride all of the rides we wanted to. Well, except for a couple that were down for repairs.
I didn't get to explore the two Universal Studios Harry Potter "worlds" quite as much as I wanted, but I loved every minute I did have. The detail in these parks is astounding. I have lots of pics, way too many to post here, but I'll try to share a few of my favorites a little later.

@Peggy - sorry you didn't get the house you were wanting. Hopefully you can find an equally great house soon!
@Janice - Yes, moving is a pain. But living in a place where you are not comfortable or happy is a much bigger pain. Don't talk yourself in circles. It sounds like moving is the best option, even if it just means you'll have to move again in a few years. Moving is a temporary stress and it sounds like you have good friends and family that would be willing to help you with the process. You'll be happier in the long run if you have a place to call home where you feel safe and comfortable.

Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun KimeyDiann! I'm really glad you all had a good time!
Do they still have The Mummy ride in Universal Studios? That was one of my favourites.

very true. You can declutter and then keep some rarely used things in boxes for the next move.

As my friend said, "Janice, you've had too many concessions in the last three years to make more now."
So, it's no to both places. There were those two, and I'm sure there will be more. I just have to be patient.

Sorry to hear the house has been sold Peggy. As others have said, I'm sure you will find one even more perfect for you.
Yes I heard about the rollercoaster accident Lisa. Very scary. I do love rollercoasters and they don't tend to worry me as generally they are well maintained and very few accidents occur. But when they do, it goes wrong big time.
Glad you had a good time at Disney World KimeyDiann. It would be my worst nightmare unfortunately as I hate people dressed up in costumes.
I hate the worst bike ride to work ever yesterday - wind and rain and a flat tire! I'm all pumped up today and the wind has died down and the sun has come out so hopefully when it's time for me to go I'll be alright.

They reported not just their names but their ages too.

Hopefully some R&R will set you right as rain, Janice. Feel better soon.
