Summer is coming!!! Next weekend over 30C (86F)! To be honest it's maybe a bit too much, but I'm soooo happy summer is finally here. I'm also done with most of my dissertation so hopefully I can enjoy it :D

Sorry to hear about your car accident! I hope you are all ok?

You make summer sounds really cool Peggy, I hate summer it gets so hot down here and sometimes it gets over 46C .. You can actually cook an egg in our weather using the sun heat only - I'm not exaggerating - !! You keep sweating and everything goes hot, you can't stay outside without having the hot weather effecting your mood, the only good thing about summer is swimming pool !!!
You can send us the cold weather Lisa and I'll send you some of this desert weather !!

A new book always does the trick in fixing my mood :P"
Haha! I recognize those symptoms. Then when I look at my ever growing list of books/audiobooks owned waiting to be read, I don't feel so good any more.

Yesterday I took in my recycling and got $77, and then I proceeded to spend almost that same amount on books, sigh!

Hehe, thanks! I might just do that ;) Your weather reminds me of the weather we had in Egypt a few years ago whilst on holiday. It was up in the mid 40s every day. The day we went to The Valley of the Kings and Luxor it was 51C! Never been so hot in my life!

We went for a house viewing again today, and it was exactly the kind of house we're looking for! So we're both pretty excited :) It has only been online for 10 days and many people have been to look at it and more will come in the next few days, so I'm not too sure we will be the people getting it, but we'll see. We'll try to go for a second viewing next week.

@Peggy, I hope you are lucky and get the house if you finally find it! What a year for you, Peggy!

Berit that sounds nice, I never heard of such events down town here !!
Now you know what I mean Lisa .. Thats why I always want to travel to a snowy country one day .. And make a snowman, I always wanted to make a snow man
I hope you get the house Peggy, keep up the positive thoughts of having it :D
Woow Ann that is really amazing, house pets usually don't survive outside their owner's environment, good thing he made it !!

Just something I was thinking about:
If you ever had the chance to turn your life story into a book ..
What title would you pick for it?!
How the cover would look like?!
My book would be called "Little Lies" and the book cover would be very dark blue with naked walking legs ..
It would be something like this :

What about you guys ?!

I've been treated to a wildlife extravaganza on the canal this weekend. Yesterday two swans and their four cygnets came to say hello and spent ages around our boat. Then we had an aerial display by a huge group of swifts/swallows/housemartins (not sure which ones they were - they all look very similar - they were blue/black on top and very light underneath). Then a Moorhen and her baby swam past and all the while the fish were jumping out of the water. Then today a female duck and her 11 ducklings which have grown quite a bit came up to our boat and I was feeding them. Loving living on a boat.
We're forecast warmer weather from the end of the week so I'm looking forward to spending some time in the sun.

We had a meeting this morning with a purchasing agent (that's google translate talking; a person who is on our side when buying a house, helps with negotiations and all official parts of the whole thing) and she does not take things slow! She's going to try to get us a second viewing this week (together with her) at the house we loved so much last Saturday. It's all so exciting! There were a lot of interested people though...
Some pictures are here: http://www.funda.nl/koop/roermond/hui...

She also said that we should think about the minimum and maximum price we want to offer, because we might have to make an offer tomorrow already (if we still want the house) because there is so much interest.
edit: I should work now but I'm too excited!

EDIT: Just checked out the pictures and it looks amazing! That is an extremely good price for the condition and size of the property. I would have been lucky to have got a 1 bedroom flat in a rough area for that money. That's why I live on a boat :-)

Peggy, looks BEAUTIFUL! I really hope you get the house if you loved it so much! In the US she would be a "real state agent" or just a "realtor".

Sarah: I live in the south of the Netherlands, and prices here are nothing compared to the popular and more central areas in and around Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague for example. I think a 1 bedroom flat in a rough area is also all you would get in one of those cities.

Nice house Peggy. Except the room with the long narrow yellow bed thing. That just screams prison to me but that could be fixed. I likr how everything is done with pavers outside. Is it just the pictures or are at least some of the rooms not perfectly square but built at angles. Never see much not built square around here so that's a new concept to me

Thankfully we're buying just the house, not the furniture ;-) I figured the small room would make a nice library! I can see it with the walls covered from top to bottom with books. Not sure if bf has other plans though ;-)
