Watcha Doing? Version 2015
I haven't watched any of them since I have way too many shows that I watch currently, lol! It is nice when shows are on breaks so I can read more :)
I keep thinking I should start watching 'Orange Is The New Black', seeing as I keep hearing how good it is. I really want to start watching 'Revenge'. I have the first two series on DVD but haven't watched them yet. Has anyone seen 'Penny Dreadful'? I have been working my way through Series 1 and have enjoyed it. The depiction of the relationship between Frankenstein and his monster is very good.
I don't watch much tv either. I was watching just oitnb, but then the other two series started last tuesday and now I have three. Still not so bad!
Which ones do you watch Stephanie? I only have 9 more to go for oitnb and would love to get some suggestions for a new series :)
I don't watch much TV either. In fact we're not going to have one at all once we're on the boat. I do love a series though and we often download them and then binge on them - we hate having to wait a whole week to find out what happens next. Not watched any of the ones you guys have mentioned. Our current ones are Game of Thrones, Gotham, Under the Dome, Orphan Black, and The Walking Dead.
Sarah wrote: "Our current ones are Game of Thrones, Gotham, Under the Dome, Orphan Black, and The Walking Dead."I know our local library has The Walking Dead, have been thinking of watching it, just don't have the time. I'm with you in hating to wait a week if the series is really good. I watched Game of Thrones seasons 1 and 2 from a DVD, would need to get season 3 as well (it has been shown on pay TV only here so far). How are you liking Under The Dome? I feel it veered so much from the original book (which I liked) that I don't have much interest in it anymore (season 2 is currently being shown here).
Sarah you orobably need to check out. Dont know exact title. Tiny house something. Think its on hgtv. They build and or remodel tiny houses for people. Could pick up some ideas for maximum soace management. Wish i could recall the exact title. Tiny houses is a big fad right now with people. Your boat is a mansion comoared with some of these
I watched the first series of 'Under the Dome' and the first couple of episodes of Series 2 but I have now given up. I just didn't like the direction it was going in and I felt it became quite boring.Peggy, if you are looking for a new series to get into, my recommendation would be 'Orphan Black'. I am not into sci-fi particularly but I am really enjoying this series. 'Penny Dreadful' is good too but it is quite gory and creepy so it is definitely not for everyone.
I've heard many good things about Orphan Black Lisa. I'm a bit worried about the sci-fi aspect, but I'm almost convinced I should give it a try.I'm not a fan of horror or gore, so Penny Dreadful is not for me I think.
@Camilla. I liked series 1 of Under the Dome but the second one annoyed me a little - it became a little like Lost - wacky and confusing. I know it deviates from the book significantly so that they could have more than one series of it. I haven't read the book yet although I own it.@Travis - thanks for the mention. Did a quick search and found two shows - Tiny House Hunters and Tiny House Nation - tiny houses most be popular then. I will check them out. We have a programme on here called George Clarke's Amazing Spaces which I guess is a bit like those. Space management is key.
I'm with Lisa on Orphan Black. It is Sci-Fi but it's easy to follow and not to far out there. I have found it hilarious at times too - great characters and the lead woman is a fantastic actress - she plays practically every character in it.
I think my wife watches both. Lots of ideas and many need to be accomplished on ridiculously small budgets. They always figure out sonething though. Its crazy

Crap, I have 14 since Lisa just reminded me about Under the Dome :-) which that show is Amazing!! And I remembered a few more..I definitely have a tv series problem ;-)I also watch:
The Following
Once Upon a Time
Resurrection
Gotham
Scorpion
Castle
Two Broke Girls (which is hilarious and only a half hour show)
A to Z
Grey's Anatomy
How to Get Away with Murder
Hawai'i 5-0
Bones
Girl meets world (no judging..I watch it cause I loved boy meets girl when I was younger, lol )
I'm probably forgetting some but that's what I can remember right now lol!
I love 'Once Upon a Time'! I am seriously behind with it though, I have only watched to the end of Series 2. The first two series were shown on Channel 5 here in the UK who then helpfully decided to pull the show! :( As far as I'm aware no other UK broadcaster has picked it up so I will have to try and catch up on Netflix at some point.
Wow we apparently pissed mother nature off since alert just came through for from 1am tonight until 6pm saturday we are supposed to get 3-5 feet of snow. Sonetimes I hate my life. I'll be smiling again come May 1 since it will take until then to melt all this white crap
I just found this in the net today.http://www.omgfacts.com/lists/17183/1...
Maybe it is old and know or plain dum. Or really helpful. You judge
I've done at least half the things on that list. I think everyone scrapes ice with a cd at least once in their life. I've never met a farmer who doesn't at least occadionally put plastic bags on to keep feet dry. All in all pretty good list though
If cold is here for a long tine you can find me with a sock in each of my pockets and a pair of gloves inside my shirt. Changing out every couple of hours. Hasn't been needed yet this year but still time. Warm feet and hands and head and you're oretty well set.
I found the thing with the bicycle very interesting... I can remember when my fellow students (my times of University in North Europe) always complained about too little traction in snow or ice...
Mariab wrote: "Well, yes, the flavor (bitter or sour always takes the thirst away). But alcohol drains the water in your body. Therefore is not good in hot weather (your bitter or sour beverage is actually better..."Ah yes, except for that first one. Beer straight after work has been shown to hydrate you faster and better. Carbonation and carbohydrates. After that one, you're quite correct, but explains that perfect feeling.
Gave up on Once Upon a Time. It got really silly, which was sad as I enjoyed it until.Just finished all the available Agents of SHIELD last night, and the latest series of Doctor Who the night before. Hadn't heard of Orphan Black, will check it out.
You'll just have to do what we do Sarah. Computers. Hardly watch tv at all, and if I do it's through the channels watch later systems on the net.
I know how you feel Rusalka in regards to OUAT. It has gotten beyond weird..but.,I can't..stop...watching..it :-)

Mayb..."
#1 - But I want to see out my windows.
#4 - Make sure it's not the clumping cat litter. Seriously! I used some last winter and it was not pretty, nor did it do the job.
#8 - It's rare to see someone riding a bike up here in winter. I saw a bike yesterday, and the tires were like that on a motorcycle. I have yet to see someone on a motorbike. Wind chill is cold enough as it is without creating your own.
#12 - Turn up the heat! If it's that cold in your house that you have to put socks on your toilet seat, the water will be freezing in the pipes.
That was fun to read. Thanks for posting it Mariab.
I recorded all the Outlander series when it was on recently. I'm waiting to read the first book before I watch it.
We gave up on OUAT too this year. And we are a little behind on doctor who too - some family members get cranky when we don't watch them together so it can take a while to coordinate schedules. Thank heavens for the DVR. We are also big fans of agents of shield, and can't believe we missed agent carter this week. Have to catch up this weekend. Also will need to catch up on sleepy hollow. It's a wonder sometimes that I get any reading done at all.
My mother born in the 50's never had an indoor toilet when she was growing up until sometime in the 1960's. She get a kick out of the sock on the seat. Indoor toilets beats the heck out of the outhouse chilly or not
Yes, I have many memories of outdoor toilets. Thankfully, we had indoor plumbing, but some of my aunts/uncles that lived on the farm didn't. OMG! I'm watching Mrs. Browns Boys while catching up on Goodreads. Mrs. Brown had some offensive farts that she was trying to eliminate the effects with air freshener that turned out to be spray glue. Good thing we didn't have spray glue back in the day of outdoor toilets.
It is a bit warmer tonight 9 F, got my electric blankie fired up.I DVR these programs:
Downton Abbey
Scorpion
Madame Secretary
The Good Wife
NCIS
NCIS/NOLA
Criminal Minds
Bones
Oh, I love Criminal Minds. How are you liking the New Orleans NCIS?? I think it's pretty good so far, I rather like the computer guy in the wheelchair.
Dawn wrote: "Oh, I love Criminal Minds. How are you liking the New Orleans NCIS?? I think it's pretty good so far, I rather like the computer guy in the wheelchair."
I love it, Dawn. Love the wheels geek too - 1 of my fav characters! And Scott Bacula is easy on the eyes as is Mark Harmon.
When it was -4C here the other day and I was out all day in it, I was wearing the following items of clothing all at the same time: 4 x socks, 2 x fleece lined thermal leggings, 1 x jogging bottoms, 1 x windproof combat trousers, 2 x thermal vests, 1 x long sleep top, 2 x hooded fleece jumpers, 1 x knee length hooded coat, 2 x gloves, 1 x scarf, 1 x hat. It did the job and I stayed mostly warm although I did get cold toes, fingers and face. So what do you guys wear when the temperature is 5 times as cold as it was here? You must all go around looking like Michelin men! ;-)
Sarah wrote: "When it was -4C here the other day and I was out all day in it, I was wearing the following items of clothing all at the same time: 4 x socks, 2 x fleece lined thermal leggings, 1 x jogging bottoms..."Thing about QC, it's humid. So whatever you wear, it will pass throught.
This said, We have gear that is made to work on colder climate so we do not need the layering. So if i have to stay out for a while, i just make sure no skin is showing.
Btw, -4c is warm. :)
Honestly you get used to the cold so no where near as much clothing as one would imagine. Says the guy with about 10 sets of carhartt's
Had to go convert to Farenheit. Yeah -4c if it is sunny with no wind all I would need is a sweatshirt on. Might wear gloves maybe not depends how active I was gonna be
When we fish in the winter, depending on how cold it is, I bundle up with, fleece pants under warm ups, long sleeve shirt and t-shirt under a hooded sweatshirt, a warm coat, gloves and a hat. I stay pretty warm as long as the wind isn't blowing too bad :-)
I'm just a wuss then! I think I need to take a holiday out your way in the winter to get some perspective!
Just finished work then I'm off to get my car fixed as I couldn't get it done sooner. Then I'm back down to the boat to try and get it as close to Bristol as we possibly can by Monday. Hope you all have a good weekend!
Climatebl tolerance is what you are used to. I had an aunt from Israel. She lived in California after marrying my uncle. I remember her coming out here once in February. We could not get that woman warm for anything. I think she was sleeping fully dressed in a fur coat with every blanket we owned except maybe one for each of the rest of us and still was cold. Nothing to do for it she just hadn't ever been exposed to sub freezing temps
Sarah wrote: "I'm just a wuss then! I think I need to take a holiday out your way in the winter to get some perspective!"Not a wuss. That's frickign cold.
Lol, I was just about to post that Rusalka. But, this must be a bit extreme even for people who live in those areas and are used to cold, or not?

Orange is only available on Netflix here, which we don't have, but I would be interested in watching it if it were available to me. Had to google for Hart of Dixie and Jane the Virgin; the first has been shown here, but I have not watched it, and the second is not known here. I like also Grey's Anatomy and Holmes (the American version). But in general I don't watch that much TV, I like reading more.
