Tasha We used to have a Kuerig, in fact went through a couple of them. Ours always ended up not working right after a while, very slowly dripping. We got our second one free from Keurig bc of it breaking down. So, word of advice, if it breaks down, try getting a replacement from Keurig (although maybe you need to have originally purchased from there, not sure). My husband has heard that if you buy it from Bed, Bath & Beyond you should be able to get free replacement as well.

message 852: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments I am on my second one as well, good to know that they will replace it.

message 853: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I love my Keurig! My hubby bought me one our first Christmas we were married..so it is 3 years old now. It still works well. I use filtered water from our Brita though so maybe that helps? I only use it now for hot water for my tea but may be switching back to coffee :)

Love those! I left one behind when I moved. I debated about buying one but two things stopped me - price and space.

Stephanie Had my job interview today :) I though it went just ok! Everyone in the office that I met are super friendly and are all dog people!! :) downtime they like to talk about dogs and food lol! I don't think I am assertive enough to work in a testing center but we'll see! I should here something sometime next week! If I get the job, great, but if not then that just means there is something out there better for me ;)

Now for the waiting. You may be surprised how being a dog lover could work to your advantage. You may be seen as empathetic. One former boss would always ask people during the interview if they did any kind of crafts. They always got more weight in being offered a position. She said that people who do crafts are creative problem solvers.

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Well I'm due for my 2 minutr check up and presciption renewal. I have COPDso perioducally have to go for a weight, blood pressure, lung listen appointment. Good thing I guess since I got smashed quite hard into a post last wednesday and heard a loud crack from my ribs. Usually just get a nice quiet crack in those cases. A week later and my left lung still bothers when I lift or push in suxh a way that must put pressure of my left side rib cage. Guess I better get some xRays before I start coughing up blood or something

I guess!

Goodness, Travis. Did you perhaps break a rib? Better get it checked out. And what crack in the ribs is ever "nice and quiet"?

Travis-what kind of creamer do you and your wife drink?

When I used to have a coffee pot I would make a whole pot and would have a fresh cup or two of coffee and then leave the rest in the pot until the next morning and pour some in a cup and reheat in the microwave. I would do this probably 2 days and then make another fresh pot.
Used to have Keurig before I drank coffee. Maybe someday I will get another one and enjoy a cup of Joe once in awhile.

I've been on a chai kick, where you add the milk. Yum...but talk about calories :/

Good luck!

I agree with Janice. You'd be amazed at what gets you a job, or more likely, remembered. I have gotten two jobs (my entry positions into my workplace now, and my old one) as Lexx did a course at uni on useful employment skills (he went to the vocational uni in town, where they teach you useful things like that and do the practical degrees like graphic design, architecture, nursing, teaching, etc) and they told him to put one interesting/quirky fact on his CV.

Mine was in "Other Interests" and I have playing with my ducks and chickens.

My first interview at my old workplace was them quizzing me for 20 minutes about my birds, and then realised they should ask me something work related. At my current job, I still get told by the people who read my CV that they all laughed and talked about the bird girl. They wanted to interview me just on that alone.

So, all that talk up. Hopefully it works out for you too.

Ick. Yeah if you're still having problems, check it out. I know what you mean. There's a normal crack, and then a nasty crack.

How'd you smash yourself into a post?

I was giving some vaccinations. Which happens quite regularly since we don't give all the cows shots at same time. Vaccinations are all given under the skin in the neck which shoukdn't be more than a mosquito bite to them. 90% of any shots they get go there. They each get vaccinated 4-5 times a year but every so often there is sone moron who thinks that tiny little needle will kill them. Just happened there was a post behind me and in bkink of an eye I poke her and she throws 1300 lbs sideways and really smashed me a good one.

Oh wow. Understand about vaccinating animals regulating and how ridiculous they can be, but worst I have dealt with is a 30kg dog or two with teeth or a 2kg chicken/duck without. Can't imagine doing it to a 580kg cow!! Hat off, yet again.

message 874: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments We started a new vaccine last week so decided wednesdays would be a good day for it. Hoping I have a better time at it today as I have another 17 to do. Once I get this initial first and second dose given then they'll get 3 doses a year but it will be based on where they are in lactation so like the rest of the vaccinations I won't have to do only a couple cows here and there all spread out. Which is safer for me. The more shots given in a single day the greater the chances that some cow is watching you getting nervous so when you get to her you get kicked or smashed into a post. Always a couple animals that get nervous if they just see a syringe in your hand

@Travis, You definitely should get that rib checked out! I've always been slightly intimidated by cows. I think just because they are so big. We go ATV riding at a friend's property sometimes and they have cows, we have been chased by an angry momma more than once. LOL.

This morning while getting ready for work my husband comes in the room and sarcastically says "I'm really on top of it this morning." I ask what is wrong and he tells me that he forgot to put a cup under the Keureg and coffee went everywhere! How ironic is that? LOL

I'm having a headache for the third day in a row, and painkillers do not seem to work. I hope it's gone by tomorrow.

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments As a sufferer of chronic headaches, I feel your pain, Peggy. I hope you find relief soon.
Do you get headaches a lot?

We got sent home from work around lunch today due to snow and ice. In Mississippi snow is such a rarity pretty much everything closes down if it's in the forecast. Schools have bee.n closed more than they have been open in the past 2 weeks because of potential icy roads. We've been lucky that for the most part nothing has happened... but the weatherman got it right today! It is snowing like crazy. I know this is no big deal to those of you from snow prone areas, but we've already got an inch or two of snow in just an hour or so! I'm ready for my husband to get done with work so we can play! LOL

message 890: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I used to get two migraines a week at some point, but I got medication and that helped a lot. Still sometimes the headaches manage to find their way through...

How exciting must that be, the snow if it is so rare! I hope you get to build a snowman :D How often does it snow in Mississippi?

what is dragon boating???

Sarah | 18550 comments Melissa wrote: "what is dragon boating???"

Well, It's a long boat with wooden seats which seat two people. You can fit about 20-ish people each with a paddle. At the back there is a helsman who steers the boat and at the front sits a drummer who beats the drum for the paddlers to paddle in time to. On the front of the boat is a dragon head and on the tail is the tail of a dragon. Then the boats race against each other. I took part in quite a number or them when I was in scouts but also I was in a team and competed in the National championships. It's great fun. I've not done it now for well over 10 years.

Here's a picture I nicked from google:

Bella | 502 comments I know it's way past Christmas, but did anyone get a Kobo Auro H20 for a gift? (It's a waterproof, you can read it in the bathtub ereader.) Is it any good? And is it worth the money? https://www.kobo.com/kobo-aurah2o.html

I'm cheap, so I'll wait for them to start showing up used on ebay. But even used, it's probably going to be more than I'm used to paying for an ereader.

message 897: by Berit (new)

Berit | 641 comments I am thinking of purchasing an iPad mini, my kids seem to think I don't need one. However, they need phones and tablets and video games. Has anyone ever bought anything used? I'm a bit worried but there is a bit of a price break even if I get it from Apple directly

message 898: by Bella (new)

Bella | 502 comments Berit,
I pretty much only buy ereaders used now. I had two Nooks I bought new- one from B&N, one from Office Depot. I took out the warranty on both and it was like pulling teeth. For the price of a new Nook color, I could buy like 4 used ones. So, if one breaks, throw it in the trash. No more waiting for a week to get the new one or a check, just pull one out of the drawer.

The big thing is the screen. Unless it's a screaming deal, I'll email the seller and ask if the screen is perfect. Not in the sense of minor scratches, but more like are there dark pixels, or spots that are light/dark. I buy from ebay and Amazon. I got an iPad for my daughter, used, from Amazon because it was still almost $300 and I made sure to buy directly from Amazon because they have the best/easiest return policy. Amazon, actually, has a lot of used stuff because they offer to let you trade in electronics when you buy new from them.
