Delitealex | 336 comments Kindle sales are often hard for me to pass up especially when they have whole series on sale.

message 1152: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19339 comments Lol! Peggy is such a bad influence. :) Unfortunately, that's exactly how I think too, so I have a difficult time passing up a sale.

message 1153: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm sorry Janice ;-)

That's why I also buy every kindle deal that I have on my tbr. I'm very good at ignoring unknown titles though, so that helps a bit. I just get the titles I recognize.

message 1154: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I was just teasing you, Peggy. :)

I popped back in here to get the titles because I'm going to check iTunes for the books. I have a huge credit there, so if they offer the same deal, I'll get them from iTunes.

message 1155: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments And....... they were, so I bought them.

No willpower.

message 1156: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments There are worse things to have no willpower over!

message 1157: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11316 comments Willpower is overestimated. lol

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Peggy wrote: "There are worse things to have no willpower over!"

I agree! Like chocolate!

message 1159: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I have no willpower over chocolate either but I'm not complaining :P

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments Ice cream is my nemesis. Can't say no. A bowl of ice cream and a good book is the way to go.

Just did that tonight. Love it.

I'm only human... how can I ignore a title like The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster? I came across it for 99 cents in the Kobo store. And bought it. Because it sounds interesting.

message 1163: by Cherie (last edited Dec 23, 2015 02:05AM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I have it on my TBR list, Peggy and I just bought it from Barnes & Nobel for 99 cents. Thanks for pointing it out. I thought it was a great title and added it to my list after I saw a review from someone I follow. :0)

message 1164: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I hope it will fit a challenge soon :D

message 1165: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments There are birds on the cover. It might fit one of the Geocaching tasks or it could be an alternate read for Janurary. Lemoncolly isn't exactly an everyday word. :o)

message 1166: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Especially since I can't even spell it correctly!

message 1167: by Sandra, Moderator (last edited Dec 24, 2015 03:30AM) (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11316 comments It reminds me of Limoncello. I love Limoncello.

message 1168: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I got these four books for xmas. There is some serious cover love going on here:

Dickens at Christmas Dickens at Christmas by Charles Dickens

The Penguin Lessons The Penguin Lessons by Tom Michell

The Chimes The Chimes by Anna Smaill

The Lake House The Lake House by Kate Morton

message 1169: by Rusalka, Moderator (last edited Dec 25, 2015 04:45AM) (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments I was shopping for Christmas presents and my University bookshop currently has all it's books on sale to make room for more tacky crap and makeup (!?). I'm not impressed at all, but what can you do. I picked up:

Red Queen
Longbourn
The Gardener from Ochakov, and
The Fall of the Stone City

Last week I scored:
Adam Liaw's Asian Cookery School

And today:
The Secret Chord

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments The Chimes sounds fascinating, Lisa. Enjoy! And Merry Christmas!

message 1171: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments No books for me for Christmas but i did just buy a couple for myself.

The Paradise War was one of the first books I read on my kindle and the first by Lawhead. Really liked it. Be sure to read the whole series.

message 1174: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I'm looking forward to it, Roz.

I picked up 3 Kindle Daily Deals today -

Ancillary Justice
This Dark Road to Mercy
The Silence of the Lambs

My ex gave me a gift card for some ebooks from Enthrill. I'd never heard of them. The wee print says that they are affiliated with Walmart. I couldn't find any recognizable titles or authors. Many of the books that I looked up on Goodreads were published several years back with very few reviews and low ratings. LOL!

message 1175: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I forgot to mention that my sister gave me The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived the Holocaust for Christmas.

message 1176: by Delitealex (new)

Delitealex | 336 comments Picked up With This Curse by Amanda DeWees for .99 looks like 1st of a series

message 1177: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Dec 25, 2015 08:58PM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I used two Audible credits and got:

The Death of Dulgath
Throne of Jade

Enjoy the new Riyria adventure Janice! Still waiting for it to come out in paperback here in the UK.

message 1179: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Another purchase Half the World. I think i must nearly own all this author's stuff and I've not even read one book yet. I normally don't do that in case i don't like their style.

I think you'll like Joe Abercrombie, Sarah. I've got a few of his books as well.

message 1181: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments That's what I figured. I'm pretty certain I'll like his style given the people who've already read and rated his books who have similar taste in books as me.

message 1183: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Great haul Rusalka! How are you feeling now? Did the bookish retail therapy help?

message 1184: by Lisa (last edited Dec 29, 2015 03:00AM) (new)

message 1185: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Both you have some good books in your hauls. I want to buy some more books but nothing is jumping out at me rjght now. Kindle have 12 days of christmas offers on at the moment which I'm paying attention to. There are some great books listed but i own or have read quite a number of them. I'm tempted to buy The Windup Girl even though I've read it as i love the author and i think I'd like to reread it at some point.

message 1186: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11316 comments Rusalka, I'm sure you are like a teenager now. :)

Good titles in both hauls!

Full of hormones and easily distractible? :P

message 1188: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments Seriously though, thanks guys. Feeling heaps better. The 90 mins in the shop was a bit much, feeling pretty weak and fevery by the end of it. But very worth it. And the only customer in there for an hour, so I could browse properly!! Love that!

lol, I can't affirm that part. I was thinking more in "young" or "as good as new". :)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments I am one spring chicken. If the chicken was a little bit snotty. And 30 something and not very springy.

message 1191: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19339 comments I picked up A Girl and Her Monster as a Kindle freebie.

Glad you are feeling better, Rusalka.

message 1192: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments Thank you!

I forgot to say i bought another copy of The Gashlycrumb Tinies to add to our present drawer. So many people keep on having children and we need many a copy of this book to give away.

message 1193: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments Now that is retail therapy in action, Rusalka! Lisa isn't far behind you. :)

message 1195: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19339 comments I just picked up It Was Me All Along It Was Me All Along by Andie Mitchell for Kindle. It was a choice awards nominee and it looks really interesting to me.
