I'm really looking forward to reading it. I read The Sunne in Splendour - A Novel of Richard III last year and it is now one of my top five books of all time. I love her writing style and the amount of research she does for each and every book.

message 467: by Mariab (new)

Mariab | 3059 comments @Lisa. Yes. Is very precise. And makes all believable

message 468: by Sarah (new)

I love it when that happens! It's always nice to have a book turn up that you had forgotten all about.

message 471: by Joco (new)

Joco | 9 comments I just ordered the Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set by Brandon Sanderson! So excited to marathon those books!

message 472: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I got Room Full of Mirrors: A Biography of Jimi Hendrix, which I bought over a year ago, read, sold, and now regret selling. I also got Catch a Fire: The Life of Bob Marley

message 473: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I downloaded Dodger from SYNC's weekly freebies. I already have Great Expectations narrated by Frank Muller. I stopped listening to it for some reason I no longer recall. I'm going to have to give it a second chance.

message 474: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Haven't bought books in ages but discovering such a low price or cash price = 1 credit I was able yo get Jurassic Park and then preorder The Andromeda Strain / The Terminal Man without buying more credits since credits make me have no self control.

Great Expectations is one of my favorite dickens books. But I am a fan of much of hos work anyway.

Mistborn is awesome just like everything Sanderson touches

message 475: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments Andromeda... oh I am so tempted!

message 476: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I started listening to andromeda strain the other day but it was an awful recording (not an audible one). I got very lost so I stopped. I would like to read the print version instead.

message 477: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments This version of Andromeda is narrated by David Morse which is a completely new narrator to me

message 478: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Ok I lied David Morse narrated Revival last year

I enjoyed him in Revival.

Sarah, was the version of Andromeda you listened to narrated by Morse? Or was it a different production?

message 481: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments So my bookdealer posted a photo of his new EFTPOS machine earlier in the week. Behind the machine was a pile of China Miévilles. I asked what they were and asked him to put them aside for me until today.

So Saturday excursion was to pick them up. Unfortunately he read my message wrong and put aside the ones I had, not the ones I wanted. Luckily though, the right ones were all still there.

So I have:
The Scar
King Rat
Iron Council
Looking for Jake and Other Stories
Un Lun Dun

While we were there picked up as well:
Dawn
The Android's Dream
Agent to the Stars
Fevre Dream
The Coroner's Lunch

message 482: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Nice haul Rusalka!

message 483: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments THEN, went out to dinner with friends, who did some cleaning today and brought me a pile of books they were throwing out to choose what I wanted from. So add to the list:

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
Things Fall Apart
The Master and Margarita

message 484: by Roz (new)

Roz | 4556 comments I just bought The Bees. I remember Cherie liked it and it was on sale for Kindle.

message 486: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments It's Christmas early at Rusalka's!

message 487: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments I was actually banned from buying any other books besides the Mievilles as we are running low on space again. But as the books we picked up were 4 out of 5 for Lexx as well if not entirely, I won.

message 488: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments You'll need to buy more bookshelves, Rusalka. We'll want pictures of course.

message 489: by Canadian Dragon (new)

Canadian Dragon | 1020 comments I am glad I am not the only one who has filled another bookshelf ---lol. I just purchased the books in the series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and filled a whole shelf

message 490: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19222 comments Lexx was trying to explain to our book seller that our house is almost looking like his shop (piles of books on floor and on every surface). 7 full shelves at the moment. The guy looked at him like he was crazy "What you think my house looks like? And what do you think you're going to get from me? I'm an Enabler!!" And then nearly convinced Lexx to buy more books. The man is a genius.

message 491: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4069 comments Hahaha. That's great, Rusalka. He sure is something.

message 492: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I like your bookseller, Rusalka. Glad he's far enough away from me though.

message 493: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19339 comments I went to our library sale today and got a bag if 18 books for $5! So excited. Of course, I have no space left in the library (and no room for another bookshelf!), so I have no idea where I'm going to put them all.

message 494: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Nice haul Rusalka.

Janice, I can't quite tell the narrators surname. first name Chris and surname sounded like Know. the recording is old and has music intro.

message 495: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60109 comments I wonder if it's abridged, Sarah.

I googled it, and this is what I found - http://www.amazon.com/The-Andromeda-S.... This audiobook is narrated by Chris Noth and is abridged. If this is the edition you have, perhaps the fact that it's abridged may be causing some confusion, especially if they chopped too much.

message 496: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments You may be right Janice. That sounds like the narrator. I'll definitely get a print copy.

message 497: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Nice haul all!
