Finished part 2 and enjoying getting to know Sammy and Joe. Think the character development in this novel is excellent. I am finding it gets a bit too caught up in back story at times creating the momentum to drag a bit.I want to know more about this Golem thing.
Just finishing section one and enjoying so far. The site how stuff works has a podcast episode on the golem of Prague if your interested? It's in the show stuff you missed in history class, a good podcast in general.
The momentum is definitely dragging for me. I have just not been able to get into it at all. Forcing myself to finish Part II and then see if I will continue on with reading this one.
I am nearing the end of the novel. I must admit that the momentum is never quick. But, I have come to like the characters.
I would love to hear the thoughts of our mods in this discussion. I am particularly interested in learning why the mods decided to skip the usual vote for this month's read and picked this title for us to share.
I have officially decided to give up on this one. Nothing about it really grabbed my interest and the pace was too slow. It felt like it could have used an additional edit.
I would have loved to tackle this one, but unfortunately I had some other goings-on these past months, though not as life-changing as Tamara's past months. The few main reasons we chose this book was, that I needed a brief reprieve from the accounting duties associated with putting a book up for a vote, and we chose this title because it was a larger book that prob would not have been voted on and one that appeared to be a departure from done of the other books we've read.
We would have enjoyed your comments in the discussion. Too bad life seems to get in the way of reading.
