Ireene | 36 comments I am reading it now as a book with more than 500 pages. :)

Kate (kmersiov) I'll be reading this book in week 6 as well! :D

Angie (stargazer2014) | 10 comments I received this book for Christmas and got about 20 pages in before I got distracted. I'm looking forward to picking this back up in week 6!

Steph I will be reading this one for week 6 as well. It received great reviews and the story seems very interesting. I haven't read a book by a New Zealand author and I don't know much about the history of this country. This is another reason that I chose this book (I have a side goal to read a book by an author from every country so I am ticking off two boxes here!).

I had no idea that it was such a long book so hopefully I can power through it! Good luck everyone, I am going to start a little early on this one! For those who are reading it now, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Ireene | 36 comments I gave it five stars. Actually the theme of the book is not something I usually would be interested in. I mean it is kind of a detective story and I usually don´t read these. But I chose it because it won the Man Brooker prize and because I liked the cover of the book. :)
It didn´t give me much emotionally but I really enjoyed the language and the style of writing. I also liked how the story was framed, especially the first part of the book, the pending between present and past, stories of different men etc. And thanks to the exquisite writing it was really easy to imagine 19th century´s setting and people.
All in all it is a great book but it does need concentration and time to read.

Steph Thanks Ireena for your comments. So far I am enjoying the book but it does require concentration!

Sophie (sawphie) I read this book for week 1 of this challenge and really liked it! I think that Ireene's review sums up what I think about it, I don't have much to add ;)

Cat | 15 comments Trying this, even though I am hugely intimidated by the size of it!

Jess | 55 comments Getting a late start this week... So naturally, choosing a book with over 800 pages. Of course!

I'm about 100 pages in and LOVING it! Beautifully written so far. If it keeps it up, it'll be more than worth getting a little behind for☺

Steph I just finished! For me, the novel started out slowly and then built up rapidly at about the halfway point. The characters are all very unique and interesting in their own rights and their various linkages are even more fascinating! This was a creative masterpiece! Loved it.

Jess | 55 comments I just finished this last night! LOVED it! Really engaging, and every twist and turn of the plot fit together perfectly. A new favorite, even though it did take me two weeks☺
