Totally agree with you an Andrew! I felt the same. It wasn't bad and ended up okay in the end. About Charles - (view spoiler)[I think you nailed that. In fact, I think I was the most happy with his character arc. I couldn't stand him in the beginning and then loved him after all. Disenchanted will do that too a person. I really loved that Alan healed his daughter! (hide spoiler)]

Yes, and don't forget Jeffy (view spoiler)[he has the power, so Dat-tay-vao has survived. I had the feeling that Jeffy will forgot it soon, maybe because he is a child. (hide spoiler)]

Glad you enjoyed it after all, Andrew. The second half was a little bit more action-filled. I liked it also. And I do think we see the Dat-Tay-Vao in the future books. It is a very interesting idea, especially (view spoiler)[ with the ability to kill people as well as to heal. I felt like that was just shown to us as the tip of the iceberg of potential ideas. (hide spoiler)] I do think the next book starts to draw the other books together, too.
