Strangest thing you’ve read this year

For me, it has to be Or What You Will, by Jo Walton. I thought it was fantastic, even as it tugged my brain all over the place with its book within a book and its narrator addressing the reader and the author. Highly recommend! It’s due out in July.

I don't read science fiction, and I don't know how strange it is compared to some of the stuff out there, but The Family Upstairs
by Lisa Jewell had some kinda weird stuff going on and I would recommend it.

Easily "American Household Botany: A History of Useful Plants, 1620-1900" by Judith Sumner. More weird because of the niche topic (and she has a new book out that I'm reading right now called "Plants Go to War"), but it was really interesting, and now I know that the gas plant earned its name because it exudes so many essential oils that it can burst spontaneously into flames on a really still and warm summer day, so there is that.

What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon. It was a beautiful book, just a weird concept. I highly recommend the audio version.
