How many books does this group read every month?
We usually have two Monthly Reads of about 800 pages total plus about 350 pages of active challenges. So usually it's two or three books per month.

Can I nominate any F&SF title as a Monthly Read?
We only nominate books found on our unread shelves. Every month moderators announce themed shelves for members to choose titles from.

Do you read only the award-winning titles?
No, we also read the nominees of Hugo, Nebula and Retro Hugo awards.

Is "Best Novel" the only category of Hugo and Nebula awards you are interested in?
Yes, but our members are welcome to discuss and buddy-read anything related. From short stories to graphic novels.

Why bother with the challenges?
Books we read as challenges usually belong to series. Upon reading them we file the books as read, therefore that is a unique chance to participate in an active discussion about that work. Challenges are also great when it comes to earning Group Points, which you can trade in for fun perks!

Is necro-posting allowed?
When it comes to book discussions, it is not only allowed but encouraged! New members are welcome to jump into any old discussion threads and express their opinions about any of the books.

Is everyone required to participate in the discussions?
Every member can decide whatever level of participation they are comfortable with. However our more active members are appreciated and are rewarded for their participation.

Great idea to post this, Art, it will no doubt help ease any confusion people might have about the group’s purpose & methodologies.
