are the book that I was looking for.

RainbowheartIndian Two Feet and his Horse is a
picture book. That is definitely not the
book. Our local library has a copy of
it and I recently looked at it.
The book I am looking for was a hardback
and I guess it was 150 to 200 pages long.
I looked at the summary for Indian Paint
and I don't believe that that is the correct
book.
I just recently bought a copy
of the Wild Heart and I am
reading it. Although the plot
seems very similar to the book
I am looking for I do not believe
it is the same book. Because there
are some unusual details in there
that I think I would have remembered.

I'll keep looking!Can you remember anything about the MC? Was he a teenager or a younger child?
Do you think he was a Plains or Southwest Indian?
I am pretty sure the American Indian was an adult. Possibly a
plains Indian.

am quite certain that I read this book between
1970 and 1972. So it could not have been
published after that date. I do not believe that
it was published before 1950. It took place
in the western United States between 1800 and
1900 I think. A Indian captured a wild horse
and tamed it and then a cowboy got it and he
let it go at the end.
