When you say new do you mean new to you or do you mean recently published?

Katharine | 4 comments Mrs . Polifax series by Dorothy Gilman. Older books (1980s-ish), but good.

Katharine | 4 comments Also Puzzle Lady series by Parnell Hall. One of my favorite series is Louise Penny's Armand Gamache series. Very highly recommended. There's also Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.
Take a look at cozy-mystery.com/blog/mystery-books-with-s.... A three page list of series with senior sleuth characters.

What age qualifies as 'senior' varies. These are some series where the MC is retired.

Barbara Ross (author of the Maine Clambake series) published the first in a new series last year, Jane Darrowfield, Professional Busybody.

Jane Darrowfield, Professional Busybody (Jane Darrowfield #1) by Barbara Ross

For not so recent publications: The Agatha Raisin series by M.C. Beaton is popular. Another series that is very good but not a recent publication is Henri O by Carolyn Hart. And the Eugeena Patterson series by Tyora Moody. A series with an MC in her 80s is Myrtle Clover by Elizabeth Span Craig. The one I read was hilarious.

The Quiche of Death (Agatha Raisin, #1) by M.C. Beaton Dead Man's Island (Henrie O, #1) by Carolyn G. Hart Deep Fried Trouble (Eugeena Patterson Mysteries, Book 1) by Tyora Moody Pretty is as Pretty Dies (Myrtle Clover Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Spann Craig

The link in the previous message doesn't work. Here's page one of the list Katharine mentions.

The setting for the Jane Darrowfield mystery is a senior community. The MC moves there temporarily on an assignment.

I like the Fresh Baked Mysteries by Livia Washburn. She lives in a house with other seniors and solves mysteries.

I love the Mrs. Polifax books. I read them as a teenager and then more recently reread the series again.

L J | 714 comments A quick search turned up these:
Mike Befeler's Paul-Jacobson-Geezer-Lit series starting with Retirement Homes Are Murder
Allen B. Boyer's Bess Bullock Retirement Home series starting with Gumshoe Granny Investigates
Shannon VanBergen's Glock Grannies series starting with Up in Smoke
edited for clarity: This is not a theme that interests me so I haven't read any of the ones I list but there are more out there. Most cozies with senior sleuths have main characters who are still capable of living on their own, though they may visit friends who are in care facilities. I'm seventyish with friends my age who also read mystery, often cozies, but when called none knew or were interested in these series. I found these series by doing internet search with various keywords.
I reached another friend who reads cozies and like me had tried books in a couple of series with this theme years ago and found them uninteresting. We don't remember which ones we tried.

Mrs, Pollifax is definitely getting up there in years, but leads an exciting life. Great series.

L J | 714 comments Since in another discussion you ask about Christian mystery series I suggest looking for books from Christian publishers. If I remember correctly Guideposts, Harvest House, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan all have Christian fiction the publishers list as mystery series. You might find series that are both.

I enjoyed that one; hoping to get to #2 soon

p.s. love your nickname...my late mother called my daughter a variation of that (hana may)
