Discussion questions and my answers: The book overall
What was your favorite part of the book?
My favorite part was probably the ending because it was uplifting and I was near tears.

What was your least favorite?
Probably when Guy was sexually abusing Jolene because in that moment I wanted to murder Guy. That was so disrespectful!
Did you race to the end, or was it more of a slow burn?
Honestly, I raced to the end because I really wanted Adam and Jolene to kiss and get together. They are so cute! I also really wanted a happy ending.:)
Which scene has stuck with you the most?
The barn scene on Adam's birthday. It was so romantic and it was their first kiss! It was parfait!
Would you want to read another book by this author?
Definitely, because Abigail Johnson wrote the book very well. I really loved it and I think that she has other good books.
Did reading the book impact your mood? If yes, how so?
Yes! During the barn scene, I was smiling. I was laughing at their cute text messages, I was near tears in some scenes.
What surprised you most about the book?
When Guy was on top of Jolene and when Adam "drifted" away from Jolene. This is because I didn't think Guy would be that type of person and I think that Adam wouldn't be able to stay away from Jolene + that Jolene would be more devastated.

YAY! Did you like it as a whole? What did you think of Jo's parents? Did you feel like one was worse than the other? I couldn't decide...What are your feelings about Shelly I completely changed my mind about her!
OMG did you see the neighbor thing coming I did and I was completely skeeved out by him yuck!
If you could ask the author anything, what would it be?
What was your BIGGEST inspiration for writing this book?
How does the book's title work in relation to the book's contents? If you could give the book a new title, what would it be?
The book title is Every Other Weekend and Jolene and Adam see each other every other weekend, so I think that the title suits the book. If I could give this book a new title it would be The Story of Adam and Jolene, In The Lives of Adam and Jolene, Broken Hearts, or Broken Hearts Can Mend.
Would you ever consider re-reading it? Why or why not?
Probably in a few years. This is not a book that I would re-read every year.
Who do you most want to read this book?
My sister already read this book, so everyone in the world. This book deserves to be read!
Did the book strike you as original?
Yes! I have never read another book with the same plot.
Did you like this book?
Yes! Read my review on GoodReads to see my full thoughts on this book.

Discussion questions: The characters
Which characters did you like best?
I liked Jolene best because I liked her personality. Sarcastic, funny, and "mean."
Which did you like the least?
By now y'all should know that I really HATED Guy. My least favorite character was Guy because he "lured" Jolene in and manipulated her.
Which character did you relate to, or empathize with, the most?
Most likely Adam and Cherry. Adam because I do get mad easily at other people and his relationship with Jeremy is very similar to my relationship with my sister. Cherry because I have a somewhat similar relationship with my best friend as she does with Jolene.
If you had to trade places with one character, who would it be?
Cherry. Her life seems pretty happy, plus I love stuffed animals. I have a twin, so I know what's it like. I would die to be Jolene's friend for a day! I would also love to listen to my twin's band!
Are there any characters you'd like to deliver a lecture to? If so, who? What would you say?
Guy, duh! I would smack the wind right out of him! I would say a lot of things that may not be appropriate. One thing I would say is, "HOW DARE YOU DO THAT TO JOLENE! YOU COULD GET ARRESTED FOR THAT! Lots of people get sexually abused every year and it's not ok. You have to understand that just because you want to be a petifile or rape teenage girls, that doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do. So, please think before you act and think about how it will affect the victim's life."
That's it.:)

YAY! Did you like it as a whole? What did you think of Jo's parents? Did you feel like one was worse than the other? I couldn't decide...What are your feelings about ..."
Yes, I loved it! I thought that Jo's parents were absolutely horrible. Her mother can be better sometimes, at least she is actually there for Jolene. I honestly think that her dad was better, even though he wasn't there. This is because he wasn't rude to Jolene and him being out of her life was better. Same! I started liking Shelly toward the middle of the book because I felt bad for her. I partially saw the neighbor thing coming, yuck is right! The way he creepily smiled at her, inviting her in all the time, being too close for comfort, kissing her and acting like it was okay. I. WANT. TO. MURDER. HIM!!!
His death:
Guy was driving on the right side of the highway. An anonymous driver (me and any other person who wants to kill him) in a creepy black SUV which is bigger than Guy's car follows him down the lonely road leading back to his nasty place he calls his own. Guy is such an a** hole and thinks he's so awesome that he doesn't even care about the car that is following him back to his apartment. He made sure there were no witnesses when he did that thing with Jolene, we will make sure there are no witnesses when we kill him, hehe. Right when Guy is almost there, he lets go of the steering wheel for a second too long (STUPID IDIOT) and the dark SUV drives him into the side of a ditch. CLUNK, he goes in the dead of night, fog surrounding the scene, diving headfirst through the windshield! The driver from the black SUV steps out. "Maybe you should think twice about your actions," she says, glaring at the nearly dead Guy in the middle of the moist ditch through her sunglasses. Before Guy even has time to say anything, he passes out cold. He's gone. The killer looks around and smirks. No witnesses. And with that, the tall lady hops back into her vehicle, sneaking one last glance at the dry blood splattering Guy's face.
THE END!!!

THE END!!!

I just finished it and just wow it’s a great book.
Also idk why I think Jo is a tsundere, but dats just my weeaboo mind.
Yea, Jo is a little sassy, but I think it's because of how her life impacted her. I agree, it was super good!
I found myself feeling really sorry for Jo throughout this book anyone else?
