Julie Hudson (risesunset) | 1 comments Oh, I hope someone has my answer at long last!! My mother and I have been trying to remember the name of one of the books I would check out almost every week at the library when I was a little girl. I loved it so,and my mother saw it so often that it is hard for me to believe we can't remember the title. The time period I am referring to is the early 1980's, so I am guessing the book may have been written sometime in the 1970's. The book was about a little red haired girl who tried to solve some kind of mystery. There are not a lot of details we remember, I believe she may have gotten very bored with the adults she was around and started out to solve some sort of mystery. She had a pretty cool, original name, and I believe she also had a shaggy dog, but the main "clue" that I Know to be true (and the main reason for our ongoing search) is that when the little girl was in deep thought, she would tap her front teeth with her fingertip. It was quite an endearing little idiosyncrasy that stuck with my mom and I all this time and for almost 30 Years we have had a little inside joke to tap our front teeth in the same manner when we or someone else is in deep thought. However, when I was in high school,I made the fateful mistake of asking mom if she could remember the little girl's name...which we also make a game of when one of us forgets a person's name, we will both stop and go through the alphabet one by one until a certain letter will trigger our memory. And this method has never failed us all these years. Except with the little red haired girl who tapped her teeth when she was deep in thought. For several years it was like a bet we had going, that "I'm gonna think of it before Youuuu do!" We still have our teeth - tapping inside joke and I'm sure we always will, I just want so badly to find the red haired girl's name and then get to see the satisfied but mostly Relieved look that will be on my Mom's face...better yet, I would LOVE to be able to find a copy of the book and give to her for Valentines Day or Mothers Day.
I am so sorry that this is so long, but I wanted to give you guys as detailed an account as I could remeber. I've never posted anything before, so I hope I did everything right. I figured that the Librarians of the world would be more likely to know this but... If ANYONE that reads this has Any info on my book I am trying to identify, please send me a message on here. OR if u would rather send me an email, mine is- rise.sunsett@gmail.com And I really appreciate the chance to actually, maybe, Finally Find out her name and be able to read the same story again I read 50 times so long ago. Thank you GoodReads. Yall have a Great and prosperous upcoming New Year.
