Anways, here goes a long list of confusion!
The boy and the village around him, everywhere, barricades themselves behind doors with runes covering the doors. Some are weak, and some are strong - if the runes are weak, the demons are able to get in and kill those that hide behind the door.
Anyways - as a punishment from his dad, he was sent into the outhouse to spend the night there and get scared as demons attacked the outhouse, but couldn't touch him because the runes was what kept him safe.
But unfortunately, his mother ended up dying by getting attacked by one of the demons that came from hell.

He also finds a weapon along with acient and powerful runes that everyone has forgotten in a old cave/house/cabin (it was in the woods) and have some guy in the fucking desert pretty much make him a brother and shit, but later steals said weapon so he can defeat the demons and all that himself.
And so then after some time, he started to try and draw new runes that no one has ever seen before. And then he became known as the protector and stuff.

And then there's one part I really remember.
He was travelling down the road, alone, and night was coming. He couldn't draw the circle fast enough, so he was almost attacked by said demons - though he managed to finish the circle, but in doing so, he severed one of the demons arms off.
I also do remember that the demons went to another town, terrorized the citizens and actually killed almost all of them, 'cept for two people. A girl (or maybe boy?) And a man. The man sacrificed the child's parents in order to get away. The kid watched their mother and father die as they were torn apart.
I know a few more battle scenes and all that - like this! Just came to mind!
*Major time skip, end of book*
Basically, it was like, a fight to the death between the two guys - both dealing blows to one another, before finally at the end, the protagonist grabs the other guy and threw both of them off the side of the cliff.
And the book ended right then and there.
