Lily's frowned. "What's a merrow?" she was pretty sure she'd never heard that word before. She noticed how sweaty Cerwyn's hands were. She felt sorry for him, just in case James didn't feel the way that Cerwyn did.

Finnegan shrugged, "They are very similar to sirens and mermaids. Celtic finfolk, they wore red caps and their song lured sailors to their deaths." He looked at Cerwyn, "Are you...okay?" His brother looked nervous, scared, almost.
Jessica sighed. "Ok maybe not in real life, but in the story she did. You like specifics don't you?" she asked him. "Very particular about things."
"What Finnegan said. You okay over there, Cerwyn?" Lily asked.

Cerwyn nodded, "Yeah, just fine."
Finnegan shook his head, "Well now...uh...Lily, you said you came from a world without television?" He asked, wanting to change the subject from his brother.
Jessica shivered. She couldn't imagine not having a television. She loved watching tv. "How did you survive without TV? That must have been awful."
"It was a 'utopian' society. Long story, it sucked." Lily grimaced, thinking of her old home.

Finnegan laughed slightly, "Utopia? How cute! As if such a thing could truly exist."
Cerwyn took a shaky breath. In, out. In out. Just breath, Cerwyn.
Percy frowned. "Utopia? What's that?" he asked them. He thought that maybe Annabeth had explained it to him one time but he didn't remember.
Lily glared at Finnegan. "Oh yeah? Well you never had to live in one! The only reason I no longer live in one is because of Jonas, and that's just cuz he got chosen to be the next Giver! Picture a world with no cars, no T.V, no music, and no color. That's right. NO COLOR. Just black and white!" she snapped. Lily got mad whenever her old home was mentioned.

He nodded, "My point exactly, a perfect world can not exist." He said with a yawn. "No music, no color, it just proves that it was a dystopia." He said nonchalantly.
"Dystopia? Are you guys just making up words to confuse us now?" Jessica asked. "And how do you keep people from seeing color? That sounds kinda improbable to me."
Lily glared at Jessica. "That's why it doesn't exist anymore."

Finnegan sighed, "Okay, no need to get all butt hurt." He said bitterly, "Jeez."
Are we offending her somehow by saying a utopia is impossible? Or that her world was flawed? Well, if we are...then I guesse she knows how she made us feel. But then again, maybe she is angry for some other reason, Cerwyn thought.
"Sorry. I have no idea what 'utopia' and 'dystopia' mean. So yeah, if someone could explain it to me, I would be extremely grateful," Jessica said, glaring back at Lily.
Lily couldn't believe them. She growled and stomped off. "Look it up, why don't ya?!" she shouted over her shoulder.

"Wait, what..." Finnegan shouted as she stormed off. He should just let her go, but still. "It's not their fault, jeez woman, you didn't know things about us! We didn't blame you!" She didn't know what a druid was, or what Camelot, Avalon, or Merlin was - they assumed it was common knowledge. But then again, the twins did not know either. Maybe the twins didn't know too much outside of the Greco-Roman myths. Which, he thought, was very, very sad and kinda pathetic. Not very cultured. He shook his head at the thought of the twins not knowing the difference between coyote and Coyote.
"Rude much?" Jessica said, glaring at Lily's back as she walked away. "So what are they supposed to be in the first place Finn? Chiron only taught us what we needed to know to survive and kill monsters. We never thought we'd need to know anything else outside of that."

"Utopia can come from the Greek οὐ, 'not,' and τόπος, 'place,' therefor meaning not a place, or not a real place. Or it can come from Eutopia, derived from the Greek εὖ, good,' and τόπος, 'place,' means 'good place'. A Dystopia, also called cacotopia, kakotopia, or merely anti-utopia, is the exact opposite and is what most attempted Utopian societies end up becoming. An actual perfect world is not possible in a universe filled with flaws."
"Huh," Jessica said. "I bet we should have known that."
"Yeah, no kidding," Percy said.
"Yeah, no kidding," Percy said.

Cerwyn chuckled. "All because it is of Greek roots doesn't mean you had to have known what it is....although it is a middle-schooler's vocabulary....but..then...dyslexia, right?" He said.
All three nodded their heads. "Dyslexia, ADHD. It's cause our brains are hardwired for Ancient Greek and the ADHD helps to keep us alive in battle," Percy explained. "Most demigod have one or both. My girlfriend, Annabeth, is the smartest person I know and if you put a sign in front of her, it will take several minutes for her to figure out what it says."
"Jessica and I never went to middle school or high school. Most of elementary school in fact. Since we were nine, we lived at camp year round. Percy could go to school, but cause their's two of us, the scent we give off to monsters is too strong," James told them.
