I think I may finish this book this weekend, due to the nasty weather in my area - we are having freezing rain right now and the walkways & roads are a sheet of ice!

I love it when a character experiences real growth - Sydney Carton starts out cynical, not caring about anything or anyone, least of all, himself. He meets Lucie and she brings out the goodness in him, so much that he starts to see a reason to live. He falls in love with her pure goodness and her ability to see him in a favorable light. He ends up loving her so much that he cannot bear to see her devastated by the possible loss of her husband and finds peace and meaning in sacrificing himself at the guillotine so that Darnay can live.
