Should I stop doing the contests?

Oh I know your reading preferences are not usually PR or UF, and I appreciate you participating where you can :)
I have tried to come up with some challenges that let people choose books that may not fit into just the PR and UF categories :D I am open to suggestions for those as I plan to have the challenges each month.
I know not everyone will be able to participate in every monthly read, I don't myself some months. But I just wanted to get an idea of what people thought about the contests..
It just seems there is a lack of interest, for one reason or another.
I actually have some books (used but in fairly good condition) that I have wanted to give away for contests that I feel would be up your alley Briansgirl, I just dont know how to impliment the perameters for them LOL, because usually I cater the contests to our monthly reads.
I will think of something though!

I do have a few books I think fall into PNR (or UF) but havn't read them yet. A couple Harlequin Nocture books, Twilight, Intertwined (by Gena Showalter), one where someone talks to Ghosts. Not sure they all have HEA endings, but you can usually count on that with the Harlequins.

As a newbie I was excited to get into the action, but I have to say my "excuse" is that I can't get one of the books from my library (my book budget has been frozen until further notice, LOL, plus it is not very big these days so I am rather choosy about which books I actually buy - I am only buying those from authors I know and love, or books I have read and "need" to own aka will read until the book falls apart, e.g. I will probably be purchasing some Black Dagger Brotherhood books in the next few months).
I requested Sept's books a couple weeks ago and only got 1 so far... I am requesting the Oct books in the next couple days so i don't run into the same issue.
Anyways, what this boils down to is I love the contest idea and plan to participate, but totally understand if you need to take a breather from them...
Thanks for the feedback Jennifer :)
We actually started polling our monthly reads way in advance for that reason. A lot of people are like you in that they get their books from the library and we wanted to be sure people would be able to participate if they wanted to :)
Sometimes I can't afford to purchase books in certain months and I will skip a monthly read due to that (as I don't use the library hehe) so I totally get where you are coming from :)

This thread caught my attention because of the title. Maybe it might help to title the contest thread differently? I think the biggest factor is probably that not that many people have read the group read. I know I personally was interested in one of them but not both. I will definitely keep an eye out for next month's reads. :)
We have been doing our pollings a couple months in advance and the BoM for December already h as 6 suggestions! (Thanks guys!) But the poll wont go up for December until October :)
The November poll is still up! For the next couple days I think, so you can still vote on that one if you wish :)
The mini read Kenjii does and I am not sure if that's still open for suggestions or not. We take them until we get 6 (so the poll isnt too huge) and then put the poll up.
I like them way in advance so people have enough time to get the books reserved if they need to :)

Hmm I suppose I can put more time up there :) I didn't realize people needed more time :D
I will do that for the December poll :)

I think the idea is great but I just haven't seen a book that I'd like to read yet. Hopefully, I'll get there. LOL
Keep up the good work as we really do appreciate your dedication to this group.
Thanks guys, Now I know why some of you haven't participated! lol
I will try and open up the parameters a bit :)

Well if you do your review on goodreads, no need to link it, I can go to your profile and view it :)
Yeah as long as you just post that you have the reviews up, and then have your profile public :D Or I can invite you to friends list to see.
Please give me some feedback as I would like more people to participate but I don't want to waste my time or money.
I don't mind doing them at all, I would like to continue doing them actually but I need more people to participate for it to be worth while.
Thanks!
