ABANDONED. Children's adventure book read in 1960s. Children solving a mystery where criminals were smuggling saccharine.

I might have this wrong but I remember a book from our travelling library that I reread several times as a child in the 60s. It was Enid Blyton-style but not written by her, about children who discovered a criminal gang that were smuggling saccharine. I remember them being in caves and tunnels but not a lot else. Any ideas? :-)

Was it set in the UK?

Were the children boys or girls or both?

I think it was both and set on the coast in the uk.

I had no idea there even was such a thing as saccharin smuggling!
