Ella Murphy Mateo Torrez is a timid boy who likes to play video games and stay at home. Rufus Emeterio is a foster kid who likes to hang out with his group of friends called the Plutos. Death-Cast called both of these boys around midnight on September 5 to tell them they were going to die that day. They both download the Last Friend app, which connects people looking for a friend on their End Day, and they find each other. They meet in person, and decide to live a lifetime in one day. Rufus encourages Mateo to be brave, and Mateo encourages Rufus to express his feelings. Mateo and Rufus share a special connection, and after talking to eachother and going on adventures, they feel like they've known each other forever. I like how the author of this book showed not only the perspectives of Mateo and Rufus, but also showed the perspectives of secondary characters in the story. I would rate this book a 4/5.
