Hi all,

Came across this challenge graphic today - if you aren't doing the Marvel Vs DC Challenge (or even if you are) it could be useful for targeting your reading if you would like to!

2015 Reading Challenge

If people are interested in this I will set up a progress thread.

I'm not sure how successful I will be with it, but think I'll give it a go - Marvel DC challenge along side this one might well be helpful in clearing up those peskier ones!

EDIT

The Master thread is now available for use!

Ooh I like this one! Maybe it's good if people want a less 'competitive' challenge?

message 3: by Sookie (last edited Dec 29, 2014 05:24AM) (new)

Sookie As I am not taking part in Marvel vs DC, so I think I should be able to achieve this one.
I guess you will be able to check off more than fifty percent of the list over the year..

Oh, and there is another challenge if anyone is interested!
The Book Riot 2015 Read Harder Challenge

Definitely an interesting challenge. Wasnt sure if i could commit to the DC Marvel challenge but this looks a tad easier going

I've made a challenge ticker for the challenge, Kirsty :) I can't remember if I'm the only one who can create them, or if all mods can...

Ahhh great, thanks Rinn :D I didn't look to see if I could!

I know I had to join a group to be able to do it for some reason - it might be a Goodreads librarian thing actually. It definitely wasn't an automatic feature of the group!

Sounds a useful tool . ☺

I think i'm slightly crazy doing both this and the DC vs Marvel challenge, but we will see how far I get. Wish me luck! ;)

A lot should fall into place easy enough I think. It'll only be the later ones that might be trouble. My mother never reads so not sure where to go with that one

First blood! I did the book in a day one! Onward!

Nara (greengp01) Only just noticed this challenge! I think I'll probs join too- sounds fun :)

Ask your dad? Or an aunt, grandma, friend's mom?
I kinda see that one as "book recommended by someone from an older generation"

Ya know, while it's technically 52 books, since some can count for more than one, it's a little hard to get them ticked off on the counter for the challenge. I'm debating either counting books that aren't part of the challenge to fill in the doubles, or adjusting the count down.

Remember I've said that one book can cover two categories (if it's eligible) - you don't have to, but if you don't read an huge amount this might be preferable!

Rinn (rinnsohma) | 3456 comments Mod
Yeah I was thinking of adjusting mine because so far each book has counted for two :)

message 17: by Abrea (new)

Abrea (elorendil) | 44 comments I think I'm going to do a re-read of Firebird Trilogy, next. I haven't read it in a few years and this trilogy has always been beloved by me and my friends. :)

I have a question about 'read a book by someone under 30'. Can they have been under 30 when they wrote the book or does it not count unless they are still under 30 this year?

Kirsty Cabot (kirstycabot) | 1924 comments Mod
I think under 30 when they wrote it would be best :)

So, would several scenes at a high school count? I'm not sure I can a book that's exclusively at one...

message 21: by Bianca (new)

Bianca I'm not sure about 'a book based on or turned into a TV show'. Could I count the The Walking Dead, Compendium 1 ? I know it's a graphic novel but it has over a 1000 pages...

So how's everyone doing on this one? I don't have them all, and realistically I'm not going to by this point, but I'm going down swinging. 11 10 9 left, which I know I can knock down lower.

I could argue it's 8 left, since I didn't have the book I didn't read in school one to mark off.

I won't finish - the last ones are too tricky, or quite broad that you won't know they fit until you've read them.

Think i've about 5 left . Close but no cigar
