(view spoiler)[I thought it was really cool when Kal and Auri went to the Eshvaren. It was cool to see Auri transition from just letting the power take her over, to actually being able to control her power. I really hope that she doesn't sacrifice herself though, because I really like her. I have a feeling that because she's the main character, that won't happen, but you never know. I also find it interesting that Zila is warming up more. I feel like before she almost seemed like a robot, but now she is starting to seem more human, but she still seems left out from the crew because she's a lot different than them. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I can't believe that Kal's father is The Starslayer! When I was thinking of plot twists that could happen, I never even thought of Kal being included in them so this plot twist was really quite a surprise. I was pretty shocked that Auri and the rest of the crew just abandoned him because I thought that even though he did lie to them, it wasn't a huge deal, since it was obviously a sensitive topic for him. I was also really surprised to find out that Ty and Scar's mother was a Waywalker because Ty and Scar never mentioned any time of abilities that they noticed having. I'm so excited to find out what the ending is like, but I know that it'll probably be a while before the next book comes out, which is a little bit of a disappointment. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm very confused by the ending right now. From the way the authors put it, it seems like everyone died. I feel like that probably didn't happen, and at least some of them miraculously survived for the next book, but I feel like it was a very annoying ending. I will say though, I was very happy that Scarlett and Finian finally admitted to each other, even if it was like in the last ten seconds of their life. I was also sort of confused about Cat because it seemed like she came back, but as someone different, and I was just unsure about whether I liked that or not. I really do hope that the next book comes out soon so I can see everything resolved. (hide spoiler)]

The fact that she has loads of time while only hours are passing for everyone else means she can get good without putting anyone else in danger.
