Your thoughts about Lorraine Wright (Nora, Quin & Maggie’s mother)? Did she love any of them? Was her decision to help Nora find Maggie driven by what privileges she’d lose or her desire to save Quin?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments What a wacked piece of work. People like her don't know how to love anyone besides themselves. I want to believe she helped Nora because she wanted to save Quin, but I just don't know.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I don't think she was going to help at all until she realized that Maggie might hurt Quin. I think she helped Nora because she didn't want to see Quin hurt.

I’m not convinced that this narcissist cared about Quin because she loved her. She wanted to save her because she didn’t want to lose a child that she felt idolized her. And, it wasn’t until Nora proved to her she could affect her privileges that she gave her the information.

I don’t believe she loves any of them. Who would put a 9-year old at risk the way she did with Quin growing up? Her children were used as tools, fooling men into thinking they were the father of Quin, using Nora to endear them to the family.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I think Lorraine looked at Nora (and eventually Quin) has members of her group, not her daughters. The were tools that she could use toward her cause. I do believe though that she truly loved Quin and gave Nora the information because of that. I think her feelings toward Quin we the result of Quin visiting her in prison.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I agree that she was wacko, but I think I most agree with Jonetta's points above. It wasn't authentic motherly love; she just did choose to "save" Quin who sought her out as a way back at Nora.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I think that she gave in because she felt Quin liked coming to see her and she was afraid that Nora might be able to affect her privileges. She definitely was a wacko!
