Read around 2013. Female author. Only main characters I remember are the best friend (Serena) and Mum (Molly). The first book starts with a group of 'popular' kids being mean to the main character at the beach. I think the first book had a mystery/detective aspect to it and in a later book the main character goes on a mission to Mexico and is baptised. She meets a girl named Shannon who has alopecia. The main character, her best friend and their mums go on a trip and the main character receives a chain email and when she doesn't send it on she believes she is cursed and nearly falls out of a gondola when she gets her bracelet stuck. Her mum also has a baby at some stage. The main character really loves Dr Pepper and the guy at the store who gives her Dr Pepper jellybeans goes to church with her. She also adopts a puppy against her parents' will and has flower power sandals.
