Just finished this book. I enjoyed reading it and want to wait to let it sink in before I comment. My Mother is 87 and while younger than the main character I kept thinking about my Mom and my Aunt.

I think that that is what I liked about the book. In my review I mentioned the things I have learned about my grandmother who was born about the same time as Addie and her parents/grandparents. There is no way now that I can no fill in the gaps between the basic born/married/died statistics. I just wish I was a good enough story teller to just make something up like Diamant did with Addie.

I liked the book very much, Addie was a captivating character I couldn't stop thinking about after putting the book down. A mother, daughter relationship is difficult many times thru out life but this mother was beyond reasonable
