What does everyone do for Halloween or Samhain for those who traditionally celebrate.
Myself will be attending http://www.alnwickgarden.com/events/4...
I have my outfit and a broom is arriving today.

So I attended The Alnwick Gardens Guinness World Record attempt for the most witches gathered in one place for Halloween. the total required was 1607 witches, warlocks and mini witches. Alas we fell short by 26....So Close.. Ah well will try again next year. Plus it was still a fabulous atmosphere.
2016 is very nearly here, hoping you all had a lovely festive period without any incidents. I will be checking out the polls for our 2016 reads and setting up a group challenge for the year. So for now hope you all have a Happy New Year.

Does anyone do similar with books they have read or keep a book diary or just use Goodreads to log books?

Ooo just set my Goodreads 2016 challenge, after realising in 2015 that working and learning quilting has taken some of my reading time I have decreased my amount. What about everyone else?

Oh dear Alan Rickman, Grizzly Adams dude and the voice of Disney's Robin Hood Brian Bedford, added to the list for 2016.
Love Mr Rickman in Dogma.

As to the goodreads reading challenge. I decreased my goal this year. I'm hoping that I'll average at least manage two novels per month this year. I've read two so far this month so I guess I'm on track so far. We'll see if I can keep it up.
Alas we have lost another UK great, the LEGEND that is Terry Wogan, the Irish great who would read out the new and improved versions of Janet and John...Of which you can listen here is you are not familiar...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tKns... do try not to laugh. xx

Interesting article,
Just for the record 20, Started and put down as the main character pee'd me off immensely so shall not be finishing this any time soon. 19, 18, 17 have not yet read. 16 wish I had not read, simply awful. 15 have not read or not that I recall, however after reading and thoroughly enjoying A Christmas carol I will be reading this in the future. 14 , definitely read, a couple of times, and will re-read to refresh my memory. 13 Vaguely remember reading this but do need to re-read even if I do know the story. 12. Haven't read, however I have read Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. 11, 10, 9, 8, Not read. 7 read quite recently and loved, wish I had read this earlier. 6, 5,4,3,2 have not read as yet and the only one I will never read as I have started it but found it incredibly dull was Lord of the Rings. and last but not least Number 1, which I have read, well at least I do remember turning the pages in the big book I have.

This is sort of reading related, I have a plan, it is a rather ambitious plan to re-create Terry Pratchet's Discworld on minecraft.
So far I have mapped out half of Ankh Morpork I have created a couple of buildings one being The Mended Drum on Filigree Street...simply because it is the place to be. I have the road from A.M. Hubwards Gate to Sto-Lat complete, though I still need to add the cabbage fields, and well that's about it thus far. There is plenty more to do and probably will take me quite some time to complete.
You may ask why? Simply because of all the books I have read and loved, they are the only books I have read and wanted to visit the place so much but cannot, whilst there is a app that allows you to wander the streets of Ankh Morpork, this is only available on itunes, and I can wander, and have done, playing the text based multi user domain Discworld, however it still nice to be able to have a visual reference. And of course Why not?
This leads me onto a question for you all. Have to felt the urge to visit a place you have read about or perhaps have indeed visited a location because of a book you have read?

How is everyone doing on the group reads? I know I have been super busy of late and have not managed to read much of anything. Hopefully I will have some more time really soon to catch up.
The year is ticking along and I still haven't managed to read all of these books. I have some lined up in my to be read pile others I think I shall give a miss. Actually that's a lie they are all in my to be read pile, however getting around to reading them will probably not be this year.
Hope you all have had a great year so far and found some new favourite reads.
