David DiFilippo | 8 comments Yes this is a bear. Please only respond if you reguraly read fiction / fantasy. I've been working on this story for many years and it is in a polished form. I'm currently working on the sequel, but also seeking feedback on the first.

What I'm mainly looking for is feedback on the flow and interest level as the story unfolds. As it's quite the lengthy read (roughly 800pgs) I want to know how well it keeps the reader hooked.

Obviously any glaring grammatical issues I've missed would be appreciated, too.

If you think you're up to the read, please message me here on GR.

Ayesha Abdul | 273 comments Hi David, I am a beta reader and a huge fan of high fantasy. I have also done beta reading for several other authors with rather lengthy manuscripts. This definitely sounds like something I would be interested in. My website is whatayeshareads.blogspot.com/p/beta-r... if you would like to read some of my reviews and more information about my work. You can also email me at aag2474@gmail.com

Leoneh Charmell (leonehch) | 21 comments Hi David!

I'm an Editor and Beta-reader and I would definitely love to read your manuscript. I do have experience with hardcore fantasy, so I think that my perspective from a reader AND editor POV would interest you.

I know that this is a BIG piece, and maybe my normal rate would be too much, but I'm able to make you a special discount if you are interested.

You can check out my website to see some testimonials, rates and specifically what services I offer.

https://thebookssavant.com

I not only do a Beta-reader service, but I decided to join it with an Editorial Assessment because as an editor, there are some aspects of a manuscript that I'm unable to avoid when reading.

Or you can just send an email to

info@thebookssavant.com

I hope you get in contact!

Cheers!
Leo

BookWhispers | 46 comments Hi. In case you are still looking for an editor, I would be happy to work for you.

I am a fan of huge books and it is not a problem for me to go through pages and pages of an interesting story.

If you are interested in free help, here is my blog with writing tips: https://mybookwhisperer.org/

What you can expect from me:

I will carefully read your story and send you very detailed feedback. You can send me your first two pages as a sample and I will provide a free critique.
I will focus on:

- the characters (are they likable, enjoyable, did you manage your goal to make them disgusting...)

- the story (pacing, great moments, twists, dead ends, plot holes, dragging parts...)

- the world-building (is your world believable? Is it detailed enough, or should you reduce it?)

-the style (repetitions, too long sentences, beautifully written parts...)

Your story deserves to shine! I will gladly help you make your book even better than it is now.

You can order my services here:

Karlie | 3 comments David,

That is one hefty story! Fantasy is my preferred genre, though I do read widely across genres.

If you are still looking for readers, please contact me or visit my website: www.tightandtidyediting.com . My rates and the feedback form I use for beta reading is available there. I do offer multiple invoicing to break up the payments, which could be useful considering the word count of your book.

message 19: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Taylor (mtaylor67) | 92 comments I have beta reading, proofreading, and editing experience and have written many book reviews for books on different platforms. I can beta read a book of any length and can work with any book genre. I am hardworking, reliable, responsible, organized, detail oriented and meet deadlines. I am an effective cross functional communicator, rapid and adaptive learner, committed high receiver, skilled collaborator, dynamic solution-oriented professional. I love beta reading, proofreading, editing and writing reviews and look forward to writing yours.
I am interested in your book. It sounds like an amazing story. I am trying to get back into beta reading, proofreading, and editing after a hiatus and this would be a wonderful start. I have experience with a variety of genres and would love to find out if we are a good fit. I have worked with authors on Goodreads, Amazon, and Upwork. I am excited to get started since I love to read and review books. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you all the best in your book's success whether you choose me to work with or not.
Here are my Upwork reviews:
"Melinda delivered excellent work on this project and we enjoyed working with her. Her communication was top-notch, she met all deadlines, and her skills were strong. She adapted and learned whatever had to be learned. At one point we asked for an additional milestone, and she was very forthcoming and happy to meet our new, changing requirements. She was hands-on through the entire process. Her greatest strength has to do with seeing the tiny details, some of which we did not see ourselves. On a personal note, I enjoyed working with her and undoubtedly have additional jobs for her in the future. Don’t hesitate. Hire her!"

"I would work with Melinda again. Her prompt communication, adherence to deadlines, and cooperation was much appreciated, and mark her as a true professional. She's very skilled at what she does, and I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you!"

"Great work! Will definitely rehire for future projects requiring reviews."

"Amazing job! Would definitely recommend her!"

"Excellent job"
