5 Dogs (I think) from different backgrounds end up on the streets in the US. One might be called Ulysses. They live as a pack but pick off the weaker ones.

When did you read it?Was the book for kids, teens, or adults?
About 4 years ago, contemporary fiction for adults.
One dog is poisoned and one has come from a animal testing laboratory
Were there any humans in the story, or just dogs?Did the dogs talk?
