|Personality| Kylen has many traits; he’s kind and compassionate, but keeps to himself most of the time. He’s rather quiet, and doesn’t like being too social, preferring to stay home and read. He cares a lot for his family, and has some courage and determination. Kylen tries to stay focused on his work but he does procrastinate a bit and gets stressed out a bit. He is optimistic, and tries to make others happy. But he’s sometimes a bit too optimistic, and gets his hopes up easily. Kylen’s also a little stubborn sometimes.

|History| Kylen was raised with his younger brother and sister in the busy city of Dublin, Ireland. They lived in a high-rise apartment; it was very spacious, and life was great. Kylen’s mother worked as a waitress at a hotel a few blocks down, but in her spare time she wrote stories, and published them. His father owned a marketing business, which brought in great amounts of money.

Kylen spent most of his time in a small library. He inherited his mother’s love for books and even had a small talent in writing as well, although he wanted to be a journalist instead of a novel author in the future. Anyway, he borrowed loads of books from the library, or stayed there reading them. He was 13 when he met Lorna, and it was in the library. She was trying to grab a thick book off a shelf as he walked past. She did get it out, but knocked a few others down as well, one hitting Kylen in the head. Lorna apologised over and over again while Kylen assured her it was fine. They began talking, and before you could realize it they were fast friends. But secretly Kylen had a huge crush on Lorna, but was always afraid to tell her. Besides, he didn’t know if she liked him back.

They were both sixteen when they had to move. His mother had been fired from her job, and his father was almost out of business. They decided to move to America, but also needed to go there for a great aunt’s funeral. Kylen never knew her. It was on the day of their leave when Kylen finally admitted to Lorna that he liked her. But his heart was crushed when Lorna admitted she only wanted a friendship, and that a relationship would ruin it. Kylen left Ireland in pieces, but he never stopped liking Lorna.

In California, America, Kylen never did so well at school friend-wise. He had one best friend who stuck by him, Xavier, but otherwise he was never very popular, more seen as an outcast. He hated while his friend didn’t mind it, and tried to lift his spirits.

When the world started to ‘decay’, Kylen was at one the famous California beaches with his family. The sand seemed to slip into a deep abyss, along with the sea itself. Panic ensued. People tried to run away, others lost into the abyss, some sucked down with the sea. Kylen was just running down the sea to join his father and sister when it happened. He watched his father get sucked down into a whirlpool with his sister. They were gone in and instant. After calling out for them, he managed to get back to his mother who was at the top of the beach resting in the shade. Together than ran back to the car and began to drive off, but were partially cut off by the traffic. Kylen’s mother decided to drive off the road. She was heading straight for where her youngest son, Kylen’s brother, was having a sleepover with his friend. They were on the highway when the road caved in and tried to swallow the car whole. Then a palm collapsed on top of them, landing on Kylen’s mother’s lap just as Kylen opened the car door. She was stuck, her legs broken. She ordered Kylen to go and find his brother, and that she would be with him forever. Kylen refused but eventually left in tears. And since then Kylen has been forever looking for his brother, and won’t give up.
