I'm starting with "A book you started but never finished"Robert Jordan's The Eye of the World. I've had it sitting in reader's limbo for a year now, I think.
I'm starting with 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup. I haven't decided what prompt it will be yet but there are several that it will fit!
I started with The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors and I am going to use it for a book by an author I haven't read.
I am currently reading 2 books - Simple Genius by David Baldacci (10 on the list) and Motherhood the Second Oldest Profession by Erma Bombeck (a book I bought at the local library book sale (8 and 9 on the list. Can I satisfy two prompts at one time?
I'm currently reading Private Games by James Patterson & Mark Sullivan to fulfill the prompt for a book you'd previously started but not finished.
I've just started Station Eleven by Emily St.John Mandel to fulfill the prompt "A book by an author you've never read before"
I’m reading The Brothers Karamazov for a book with more than 500 pages. I started it at the end of the year, but I was only 100 something pages in out of 800, so I decided it still counts.
I'm starting with Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson #4) and Auringonlasku (Finnish translation of Sunset, Warriors: the New Prophecy #6) since I've already started them and they fill the magic and non-human prompts.
I am waiting for "The Goldfinch" to come in at the library and this will fulfill many of the prompts so I'll decide which one to use when I've finished it.
I'm starting with Stop Spitting at Your Brother!: Life Lessons of a Rocky Mountain Llama to fulfill the nonhuman character prompt.
I'm starting with "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. It's a Pulitzer Prize-winning book set in a different country by an author I've never read before - I think combining categories is the only way I'll ever get through the list. Sadly, I'm quite a slowpoke reader, so 50+ books is a bit much for me. I guess that's cheating, but that's OK! It's still a challenge for me.
A book with 500 pages: The Silkworm, by J.K. Rowling (and this is the thousandth time that I check the originale name of "Il baco da seta" XD).

One of my favorites as well! I hope you enjoy it Emma!

I hope you enjoy it.
I started with Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty for my "antonyms" book, now reading Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell for my "high school" book.
I started with a short stories collection called After the People Lights Have Gone Off by Stephen Graham Jones, spooky stuff
I started with The Martian by Andy Weir for the "book set in the future" category, followed by The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion as my "funny book".
I just found this challenge. I started Orange is the New Black this week -- so I will go down as my memoir.
Officially the first book that I started reading is 'Sherlock Holmes, the complete collection' by Arthur Conan Doyle for the category a book of short stories. But this is going to be a year-long project because it's such a big book. I'll basically be reading one story after finishing each book. The first book I have finished reading is Citadel by Kate Mosse for the category a book you own but have never read.
I started with the memoir Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated Loved Little House on the Prairie and this is the best of the memoirs. Nellie is the girl we grew up hating, but I so admire the girl behind the curls.
