cvtherin | 61 comments I'm starting with "A book you started but never finished"

Robert Jordan's The Eye of the World. I've had it sitting in reader's limbo for a year now, I think.

message 53: by TheBookishVirgo (new)

TheBookishVirgo I'm starting with 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup. I haven't decided what prompt it will be yet but there are several that it will fit!

message 54: by Nikki (new)

Nikki I started with The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors and I am going to use it for a book by an author I haven't read.

Karen Eisenberg I am currently reading 2 books - Simple Genius by David Baldacci (10 on the list) and Motherhood the Second Oldest Profession by Erma Bombeck (a book I bought at the local library book sale (8 and 9 on the list. Can I satisfy two prompts at one time?

message 58: by Carey (new)

Carey | 12 comments I'm currently reading Private Games by James Patterson & Mark Sullivan to fulfill the prompt for a book you'd previously started but not finished.

message 59: by Ryan (new)

Ryan (the-rybrary) I've just started Station Eleven by Emily St.John Mandel to fulfill the prompt "A book by an author you've never read before"

message 60: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 6 comments I’m reading The Brothers Karamazov for a book with more than 500 pages. I started it at the end of the year, but I was only 100 something pages in out of 800, so I decided it still counts.

message 61: by Amy (new)

Amy Prongs (ameliette) I'm starting with Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson #4) and Auringonlasku (Finnish translation of Sunset, Warriors: the New Prophecy #6) since I've already started them and they fill the magic and non-human prompts.

message 62: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I am waiting for "The Goldfinch" to come in at the library and this will fulfill many of the prompts so I'll decide which one to use when I've finished it.

message 63: by Kelley (new)

Kelley | 4 comments I'm reading Kingdom Keepers as a book from my hometown (current town too).

message 64: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ash_marie87) | 2 comments I'm reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. It can be used for a few prompts, I'll decide later.

message 65: by Beau (new)

Beau (eccentricsword) Reading "Stardust"- A book that became a movie =)

message 66: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 3 comments I'm starting with Stop Spitting at Your Brother!: Life Lessons of a Rocky Mountain Llama to fulfill the nonhuman character prompt.

message 67: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahcantstopreading) | 0 comments I finished Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers on 1/2/15, which was my "over 500 pages" book.

message 68: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidi28) I ended up reading The Sign of Four by Arthur Conan Doyle (A book with a number in the title)

message 69: by Karen (new)

Karen O | 2 comments I'm starting with "The Orphan Master's Son" by Adam Johnson. It's a Pulitzer Prize-winning book set in a different country by an author I've never read before - I think combining categories is the only way I'll ever get through the list. Sadly, I'm quite a slowpoke reader, so 50+ books is a bit much for me. I guess that's cheating, but that's OK! It's still a challenge for me.

message 70: by Uzunma (new)

Uzunma Dennis | 5 comments The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

message 71: by Mpc (new)

Mpc A book with 500 pages: The Silkworm, by J.K. Rowling (and this is the thousandth time that I check the originale name of "Il baco da seta" XD).

message 72: by Amii (new)

Amii | 37 comments Ann wrote: "Emma wrote: "Starting with The Book Thief by Markus Zusak for a book with more than 500 pages."

One of my favorites as well! I hope you enjoy it Emma!

Rachel Harper | 10 comments I'm going to read the romance. Wuthering Heights for me. Never read it

Good luck! I'm thinking of reading the same book when I get to the 500+ page book. I hope you enjoy it.

message 75: by Alycia (new)

message 76: by Sara (new)

Sara Roncero-Menendez | 20 comments I started with a short stories collection called After the People Lights Have Gone Off by Stephen Graham Jones, spooky stuff

message 77: by Gabriela (new)

Gabriela Carazato I started with The Martian by Andy Weir for the "book set in the future" category, followed by The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion as my "funny book".

message 78: by Donna (new)

Donna Rosser | 1 comments I just found this challenge. I started Orange is the New Black this week -- so I will go down as my memoir.

message 79: by SabrinaJaleesa (new)

SabrinaJaleesa (readnothingyet) Officially the first book that I started reading is 'Sherlock Holmes, the complete collection' by Arthur Conan Doyle for the category a book of short stories. But this is going to be a year-long project because it's such a big book. I'll basically be reading one story after finishing each book.

The first book I have finished reading is Citadel by Kate Mosse for the category a book you own but have never read.

message 80: by Kim (new)

Kim Williamson | 50 comments I started with the memoir Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated
Loved Little House on the Prairie and this is the best of the memoirs. Nellie is the girl we grew up hating, but I so admire the girl behind the curls.
