Rob | 2 comments I have searched for ages for this and have found nothing. The years I read the book were around 1984-1988. It was about humans (or something close) on a space vessel when the Adults are in a meeting the auditorium theyre in gets destroyed (by an ateroid possibly), leaving just the kids and a computer called "mother" I believe, raising and supporting them. I cannot remember much else except that it ends when some if not all land on a planet and its primrdial, and I assume they are the predecssors to us. I must have read this book many many times however thanks to age, I cannot remember any details. Any help in identifying it would be super !

Even though this isn't a book, it reminds me a lot of the movie"I Am Mother," and it's about this girl who's being raised by an AI who she calls mother. It says that it's roughly based/inspired by a book titled "The Search for WondLa" Could that be the book you're searching for?

Rainbowheart | 28682 comments The Search for WondLa wasn't pubbed until 2009, so if OP read his book in the '80s, that can't be it.

Rob | 2 comments I believe it was an adult book. It was in South Africa and they didn’t have a teens section at the time and it was definitely not a kids book.

Rob, please post a new comment if you're still looking for this book - or if you found it.

Rob (OP) was last active on the site in April 2020. Moving to Abandoned folder.
