I haven't read any of her books yet. But I do have the first VA book, thanks to a special someone! ;)

Sashana I LOVE Richelle Mead! She's one of my favorite authors! Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series of all time. I also love her adult urban fantasy series!

What is her adult series?

Oh yay! I love her VA series too!! I haven't gotten around to the spin-off series yet, though. Which adult series do you like? She has like 3 of them, no?

I have only read the first two in the VA series but I loved them so I really want to read the rest!

As far as her adult books go my favorite is her Georgina Kincaid series (Book 1: Succubus Blues). OMG I've probably reread the entire series like 6 times. I'm not even exaggerating. So, so, soooo good! Each book in that series is truly better than the last which is a hard thing for any series to do, let alone one with six books. I did start reading her second adult series, Dark Swan (book 1: Storm Born) and I liked it immensely. In fact, one of my goals is to finish that series this year. I don't think I'll read her latest adult series because it is dystopian and I'm not the biggest fan of that genre.

I've read 4 books from the Bloodlines series (currently there are 5 published so far). In my honest opinion I don't like that series nearly as much as I liked VA. To me, Sydney isn't as interesting or as spunky as Rose. I liked Adrian much much more when he was in VA because he had more whit/personality then than he has now in Bloodlines. I'd give the series a solid 3 stars overall so I don't hate it. Maybe the problem is that I started reading Bloodlines so soon. I should have given myself time to ween myself off VA.

Sorry about the essay. LOL. I love me some Richelle Mead!

I have the ebook for Succubus Blues!
I am going to have to bump it up after your recommendation!

I think you just broke my heart by saying you are not a big dystopian fan! haha

Yay!!! I'm glad my fan-girling had some effect on you :)

I LOVED dystopia back in the day when The Hunger Games trilogy was new released. I stopped liking/reading the genre around the time Insurgent was published. To me everything started running together and I felt like I wasn't reading anything new and fresh. However I have been hearing amazing things about The Book of Ivy and I may give the genre another try as a result of the buzz.

You need to go back to the basics where it all started with me! Go back to classic Dystopians! My love began with 1984 in like 10 or 11 years ago :)

I think I don't mind as much since my love for it began before Hunger Games and stuff and I was hooked ever since! :)

That probably does help. The HG was my first of the genre to read, so I'm a little late to the party. I do like it though!!

I definitely want to read 1984 one day. I read Animal Farm in high school and it remains to be my favorite classic so I think I'd maybe enjoy this one as well because it's written by the same author.

I must be one of the odd balls when it comes to 1984. Everyone seems to love that book, but I never did like it much.

A few people have actually told me that they liked Animal Farm much more that 1984 so you're not alone. I just hope I like it because I don't seem to do that well with classics.

I'm not big on reading classics either. Maybe the pressure from school ruined it for me. I'll have to try and read some more again this year.

And I know! My TBR list is growing more and more and I want to read all of the books today!!

If you are going to read classics, I think you should also read the Brontë sisters, if you haven't read it already.

All true things, I'm sure. At least it has a happy ending, if you want a more darker novel by one of the Bronte sisters, read Wuthering Heights.
