Rules: The purpose of this challenge is to build a body through book covers. You'll do so by finding book covers that feature specific body parts and collecting them until you've come up with a complete body.

For instance, hair, eyes, mouth, neck, torso, shoulders, back, legs, arms (if you want to add an extra challenge, you could do hands, feet, hips, etc) or easier would be head, torso, legs, and arms.

Note: Look for book covers predominantly featuring the body parts you're after. For instance, the cover for Bitter Nighthas arms on it, but they don't draw your eyes the way the arms on Leaving Paradise's cover does. Also, remember that all of the body parts below are optional. Mix & match, pick & choose, but remember to be creative and have fun.

Levels:
The Bare Bones: 4-5 books
Shoulder to the Wheel: 6-9 books
Head and Shoulders Above: 10+ books

Duration: One year from your start date.

Tips & Suggestions:
- Listopia is a great place to find books for this challenge. There are many different lists devoted to body parts like hands, feet, legs, eyes, etc.
- Use this challenge to create your perfect man or perfect woman, or even to create your own ideal body.
- Take it a step further by dressing your body in the perfect outfit. You can search for covers with articles of clothing you'd like your body to wear.
- Want to name your body? Go ahead! Come up with a fun and unique name and tell us why you chose it.
- If you want an extra challenge, try to find two eyes, hands, feet, arms, shoulders, and legs. You can even look for a right & left of each!

Here are some example book covers to get you brainstorming (please do not copy this, we will disqualify if more than 2 below are used in the same body):

That's fine, it's a year from your start date, so you can decide whenever you choose your start date!

Okay so to clarify, this means you will be reading 4-5 books for this challenge, and the minimum requirement will be a Head, a Torso, one set of Legs and one set of Arms.

And once you read each body part, post it with the cover in your post above!

:D Good, I was hoping that made sense! If something I saw ever doesn't make sense just tell me I'm rambling and to clarify!

Jessica | 400 comments Would A Match Made in Texas by Karen Witemeyer count as arms or no?

message 12: by Savannah, Founding Mother-Creator (new)

Savannah (vannah18) | 1261 comments Mod
Yes it would, my eyes focus on the arms, because in this case the rest of her body is mostly covered, so it works!

message 13: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 400 comments Ok, thanks!

message 14: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire I think I'll try this one - starting at the easy level since I've never done anything like this before. Beginning Jan. 1st.

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) Can I sign up? I know this is a little late...

message 22: by Savannah, Founding Mother-Creator (new)

Savannah (vannah18) | 1261 comments Mod
No, not too late at all.. ALL of our year-long challenges last one year from the day YOU choose to start.. I will open you up a competitor thread and you can see how others have done it.

Savannah (vannah18) | 1261 comments Mod
What level did you want to sign up for?

message 24: by Grace Meredith (new)

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) I will try Shoulder to Wheel, I'm fairly sure I could sneak 6-9 more books in my year. Can I count books that I've already read this year?

message 25: by Savannah, Founding Mother-Creator (new)

Savannah (vannah18) | 1261 comments Mod
If you choose to start Jan 1 then your end date is Jan 1.

message 26: by Grace Meredith (new)

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) Yeah, I'll start Jan 1. If I'm confident that I can read more, can I change the amount?

Savannah (vannah18) | 1261 comments Mod
Certainly.. I've a few people already complete other challenges and up their goal!
In fact we encourage it! Especially with this much time left in the year!
