So Old Gregory was in love with a witch? He kept that quiet, didn't he. I wonder if we'll get more of his back story as the books go on.

Ahh the funny priest from the first book has died. Well he wasn't funny, it was the circumstances that we met him that was funny.

Chapter 6 (view spoiler)[So did Old Gregory really sell his soul to the devil, or is just what the priests think? Oh and he's scandalous. Falling in love with his brother's girlfriend and leaving the church for her, then falling in love with a notorious witch. He definitely kept those tidbits to himself. Doesn't look so righteous now, does he?

But I don't want him to die. Hopefully they can get him out of there before he's executed!! (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[I'm still not sure on my feelings about Alice. I know that the books are setting it up for them to be best friends and it'll teach everyone that witches aren't always bad people, but she keeps doing selfish things that make me question her intent. It's all well and good making a bargain with the Bane to save Tom and the Spook but you were told that bad things would happen if he was released and you did it anyway for selfish reasons! I don't like her so much right now. (hide spoiler)]

In that way though it's relatable: they're not perfect MCs, they're just children who are brash and don't think things through.
