I was presuming I could up it once I have reached my intial goal - just as I do with my goodreads goal - sort of movable goal posts

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Yes, I was thinking the same thing.

That's what I always do too, but this is like everyone has low goal. :)
I understood it last year since we were doing each place only once, so I thought this is the same.

Sher❤ The Fabulous BookLover (thefabulousbooklover) | 254 comments Can you be a wealthy blue collar? My character is a small town boxer and he's made a lot of money with his gym.

Jonel Gaaahhh!!!! Somehow I never signed up for this. Just started my shelves now. Of course, I'm fully going to backdate my books from 2014. I'm sure I've got at least a few 'blue collar' cowboys

I've set myself with 75 Blue Collars & 50 white collars, and my shelves are:

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) Do the books have to be romance? I just finished a (non-romance) mystery with a cop so I didn't know if I should tag it for this or not.

Welcome, Kendra. I added you, but I won't be able to "refresh" your challenge, which will include your total in our totals, unless you accept my friend-invite. No hard feelings, if you don't. However, you'll have to click on your percent to do your own "refreshing."

message 216: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments I would say "blue." How about you, Pamela?

I'm really shocked by this. I could've sworn white collar would seriously surpass blue.

I would have thought so, too. For myself, I read 50/50 (I think!), but I was thinking the group would be more "white" collar.

message 226: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Yes, I'd say "white," too.

message 227: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I finally got on the board with a white collar. I am putting Ranulf from The Black Lyonon the white collar list because he is an Earl and even though he is a warrior he whined about being made to chop wood.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 13013 comments Yes, Melissa, I'd say "white collar". Blue collar heroes don't whine about chores, LOL.

message 230: by Stories (new)

Stories & Verse (storiesverse) | 256 comments Well, its close but white collar is leading 5-4 according to my challenge bookshelf. I just finished reading All of Me in which the the hero, Chris Merit is a sought after millionaire artist who paints dragons and contemporary art for high end art galleries. I posted Chris as blue collar because he is an artist and does not work in an office.

All of Me (Inside Out, #6) by Lisa Renee Jones

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) I forgot about this challenge because I wasn't subscribed to updates! I must go adjust my shelves for the books I've read and forgot to check off.

I'm including female heroes, as well as male. Some of my favorite blue collar heroes are bad-ass women who solve crime!

message 232: by ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (last edited Feb 07, 2015 10:32PM) (new)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) No surprise here, but blue collars lead for me -
10 blue collar
1 white collar

I have met my blue collar goal, haha. I think when I signed up I was only considering romance novel heroes, but now I realize I read a lot of non-romance books where a person's job plays an important part of the story.

message 233: by Shay (new)

Shay (shaylyn318) | 66 comments Okay just finished Mine, All Mine by D.L. Rose last night. Hero was a spy, second born so wasn't supposed to inherit but did since his brother died and he became Earl. There is mention of him complaining to himself because wasn't taught to run an estate.

I have to remember to mark my In Death books with both blue and white collar. Blue for Eve, white for Roarke.

My stats:
Blue: 9
White: 17

A lot of my upcoming reads are blue so that number will get even higher. I agree with Lisa this was a very good idea:)

I'd say, in which position does he function as the most in that book?
