Holly | 2 comments I know nothing about the important parts of the book (author, title, character names, setting, publication) and I've been looking for it for years now! I read it maybe 6 to 8 years ago and it could've been published even before that.

Heroine is blonde. The cover, if I remember correctly, is of her, with a yellow(?) fan covering her face. She's pretty well-off yet takes the job cause she's "interesting". She went to a finishing school where she wasn't quite like the other girls cause she likes physics and politics (she's a suffragette). She puts buttons in the hems of her dresses to keep them down.

Heroine founds a library in the town. She and the sister often buy fabric for sewing dresses. She keeps several items up her sleeve (like her fan).

The hero's sister is a redhead. She was the heroine of the second book of the series.

The hero has an Irish/Scottish(?) best friend who's not as well off as them. He likes the heroine but gives way when hero expresses desire. The Irish/Scottish(?) mom, also a redhead, makes jam(?).

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

You're most welcome. :) That was a tricky one to track down. I got lucky with a Google search, something like:

site:goodreads.com "historical romance" series suffragette "his sister"
