So it seems more obvious that Lady Dedlock is Ester's mother and the dead scribe is her father. And Lady Dedlock must have though Ester had died as a baby.

I'm glad Caddy was able to get married, even though it's sad her mother and father in law are so strange and unhappy about it.

Mr Krook spontaneously combusting. Very strange. I'm thinking someone killed him to keep him from helping with the letters. (hide spoiler)]

The secret is finally out. I wasn't surprised except for her not realizing that the child had survived.

I have no sympathy for either Caddy's mother or her father in law despite his deportment. It appears to me the dance studio is a little sweat shop that Prince and Caddy will slave in and this dandy magnanimously offers them a place to live. Yeah right. Caddy's mother is just a piece of work. Charity begins at home.

I don't know what to make of the Spontaneous Combustion either.

Wow! I've never thought of spontaneous combustion as a realistic thing! I can't believe there have been actual recently cases where it has been suspected. Very distrurbing

Emily some good research there. That disease looks nasty.

Regarding the spontaneous combustion, I am a doubter myself. I wonder how many of these cases had a little help.
