I am less than 50 pages from finishing Redefining Realness by Janet Mock. Absolutely stunning and I definitely recommend it.
wild: from lost to found on the Pacific crest trail....also could be book made into movie, and book that made me cry
I'm currently reading Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail and I'm really enjoying it. I have seen the movie though and knowing that the movie is pretty close to the book I kind of that I was going to like it
Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West by Blaine Harden was an interesting read for sure.
I read Clothes, Clothes, Clothes. Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys.. I absolutely loved it but it wouldn't be for everyone as it's very bleak at times. I chose to read it for the early part of the book which is about her involvement in the punk scene in the UK (this is my generation!)and that was very good but loved it more for the rest of the book which is the life she made afterwards despite some pretty hard times.
I read Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal. It was a very interesting look into the life of orphans in Nepal.
I think I will be using Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned" for this prompt.
Wasn't planning on reading another memoir, but I just finished Brown Girl Dreaming by Jaqueline Woodson and it was phenomenal. A memoir in free verse poetry. Highly recommended.
Just saw an article on Huffington Post that I thought was applicable:7 Moving, Must-Read Memoirs Coming Out This Year

For this challenge I read
Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of a Family by Condoleezza Rice. I have such admiration for this lady, and this book was very enlightening and so much about the closeness of the family.
Just finished reading Brown Girl Dreaming
by Jacqueline Woodsonhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I recently finished Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris. I wouldn't say it's as good as some of his other memoir/essay/short story collections like Me Talk Pretty One Day or Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, but it was still overall amusing, thoughtful, and an expression of Sedaris' unique voice.
Daneil wrote: "I am less than 50 pages from finishing Redefining Realness by Janet Mock. Absolutely stunning and I definitely recommend it."I've requested this one from the library. Looking forward to it.
Camp Paradox: A memoir of stolen innocence was a forgettable book. This is my favorite genre, so this bummed me out.
I listened to Tina Fey's Bossypants. I loved it. It was so funny and charming, and also spends a lot of time encouraging women to inspire and support one another in their endeavors.
