SOLVED. Science Fiction - A man thinks he dies losing all his memories and emotions becoming a hit-man

I read this book around 2014 possibly 2013 and I never ended up finishing it. The book had a sci-fi setting where robots were starting to take over jobs and people were starting to riot. The story follows the main character who believes he had died losing all his memories and becoming emotionless so he gets recruited to become a contract killer. As it was too long ago I can't remember any cover art or the author's name. If I recall correctly it was hardback and seemed new at the time as I must have got it from Indigo.

Edit: I feel silly now but I found the book after re-wording my search a billion times it was called Spark by John Twelve Hawks.
