LBJ was listening to the advisors of JFK. You know something they would all have done what their predecessors did - I think the wild card could have been JFK because he stood up to the military advisors - at least he did in the Cuban Missile Crisis thankfully. He might have sought a way out - but hard to tell.

Scott Anderson (chef_scott) | 36 comments I believe after reading this chapter that LBJ really was a bit perplexed as to why a war in a little country so far away would have so much impact at home. It brought his into the depths of despair and certainly a very dark and foreboding time for him
