Welcome to our newest participant, Scott Coletto. Add him as a friend, and dole out a hefty amount of hazing, haha.

Question from me today: for my Harry Potter lovers (I forgive you, Amanda AKA SquidGetsRoom), in what house are you? I cannot believe that I ever had to wonder, but I am definitely a Hufflepuff. I am even starting to crochet a blanket to celebrate myself.

And no, Scott, I have not finished the Family Blanket that I started in 2006.

Yay on Hufflepuff friends! Evelyn, I am not surprised, just from seeing you on our Long Sprints: you are disciplined, seem to have structure, and a great work ethic.

Dariana Atanasova (chaotic-aesthetic) | 89 comments Good morning, everyone! I took the test years ago and was sorted in Hufflepuff, but a few years later I was a Slytherin. I'd say I'm a mix of both haha
I've always wondered, since kids get sorted at a young age, what happens if their personalities or goals change? How would they continue living in Hogwarts, would they have the opportunity to switch houses?

Also something that might be hidden in the details, I wonder what percentages are all the houses? Is there an even number of students in each house? Would it be possible to have 100 students in Gryffindor and 150 in Ravenclaw (for example)? How would that work with the House cups every year? The most logical answer would be that they're all 1:1:1:1, but you can't just sort different personalities like that!

What's you guys' potterhead opinions on these topics?

I also wondered about the ratio among houses! Especially that Hufflepuff is so inclusive. But the Hufflepuff overage was likely at the School’s beginning. As for change, I suspect that the Sorting Hat can also see into the future.

message 11: by Kat (new)

Kat I feel like the sorting hat knows and takes into consideration personality changes for example, the three main characters show that. The sorting hat was originally going to put harry into slytherin because he saw his power. Hermione appears in the first few books to be a ravenclaw because of her brain but the hat looks eep into her mind and thinks she will one day be very brave. Same with Ron, he seems very skittish and is very afraid of spiders but the sorting hat knows that he will overcome his fears at some point.

Mine is surprisingly a hare! Such a cute coincidence, I used to have a rabbit as a child, the sweetie lived 8 years :)
In my uni we have a lab with all sorts of exotic animals, including snakes, geckos, turtles and others. We have a 12-year old rabbit whom we all adore :D
I must say I'm a tad bit disappointed my patronus isn't a snake, since I got so close with this gorgeous ball python, though the hare sure is symbolic!

message 23: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn @Dariana
and Luna's patronus is also a hare! :) and Luna is like the best thing ever so

I like badgers, so that works, and OMG on MASTIFF, how FUN! I love those, had one years ago. And I see some Slytherin in a couple of my kids, so you are certainly forgiven!

DieAReader Shareen you’re too cute 🤣🤪 I have no clue what Hogwarts House I belong to ‘cause I’ve never read the book 🤣 I saw a few of the movies, but that was a very very long time ago. So according to the Buzzfeed.com quiz this is what I got:

34% Ravenclaw
29% Gryffindor
23% Hufflepuff
14% Slytherin

What does that mean exactly? 🧐🤔 I’m thoroughly confused! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
