I found a few lists online of upcoming books: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12...
http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014...

I hope I can read the fourth part of the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater because it might be published in 2015... I do hope so.

But, if that doesn't happen, there is a whole slew of really wonderful sounding lgbtq youth novels coming out next year:
1. Read Me Like a Book by Liz Kessler
2. None of the Above by IW Gregorio
3. Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda
4. Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story by David Levithan
5. The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun Hutchinson
And several of those would also count towards other prompts for me as well!
I just added The Girl on the Train to my TBR list, so,that might be it. It's only the first week of the year, I'm sure lots of books will pop up.
I am think about holding this one til the last. I am going to be doing the list in order besides this one... I would like to wait until closer to the end of the year so I have a broader selection.
I might give The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty by Amanda Filipacchi a go if I find it at the library. If not then definitely Armada by Ernest Cline.
Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee, just announce today the sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird will be published this summer! I can't wait! I loved the first one, I never thought she would publish another one. Definitely looking forward most to this one.
I just finished the audiobook for The Sin Eater's Daughter, by Melinda Salisbury. It was published March 1.
I'm reading "As Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust"
- the newest Flavia de Luce novel by Alan Bradley. I have loved the others in this series and can't wait to read this one.
Motivate Your Child: A Christian Parent's Guide to Raising Kids Who Do What They Need to Do Without Being Told Found a few helpful things.
I read Hausfrau. Anna is a depressed woman who buries her depression through self destructive behaviors, almost as though she is trying to to heal herself through each act. She trips and falls and hurts herself several times and seems to hurt those around her each time too. Jill Alexander Essbaum writes this book beautifully. It is like walking around in the disjointed thoughts of Anna at times and just when you start to get confused by the way the story jumps around, she pulls it together. It was very unlike most books i read and was a great book for discussion.
I actually read several, I used inside the O'Briens for this prompt, but I also read after birth by Elisa Albert, open heart open mind by Clara Hughes and have go set a watchman on my nightstand
I read
. I absolutely loved
and was looking forward to the sequel but, as often happens, it was very disappointing.I read several other 2015 releases with varying levels of enjoyment:
So far, I've read 17 books that have come out this year. One of my personal challenges was to read more new books, as I almost never read books when they come out. The book I counted for this prompt was one of the books I was most excited for, So You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson. It came out around my birthday, and my friends went with me to a local bookshop where Ronson was doing a reading of his book. This book is fantastic! An absolute must-read for anyone who spends time on social media websites or wonders about internet culture. One of Ronson's strengths is his ability to empathize with the experiences of others and use that to create a paradigm shift about our own self-perceptions. Which sounds very deep, I know, but this book is also pretty hilarious, and very easy to read. The audiobook is also great and Ronson has a very calming, Welsh voice.
I really want to read that book, I've been very cognizant of how social media gloms onto people who they can agree are "bad" and it makes me ill. I heard him in an interview and I've been very interested in his work since then.
