I'm going to try to take a stab at Gone with the Wind and hope I can do it. If not, probably The Goldfinch!

For this prompt, I read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, which I thought would just be important stuff to know. It was actually a really excellent book. I had not realized it was written by an American reporter who covered Europe in the 20s, 30s and 40s, from all primary sources.
For this prompt, I read The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins.I'm also currently reading Middlemarch by George Eliot and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas which would also qualify.
I've just finished
, has anyone read it? Despite being so many pages I felt there could have been more to it, there was more I wanted to know. Anyone else feel this?

Felt it was just ok. I thought it was really hard to follow until I quit paying attention to the dates.

I have loved everything by Kate Atkinson that I have read. "Life after Life" is seriously different and I have had a hard time staying with it. My husband however prefers it over all of her other works.
It's not what I had originally planned but I ended up reading La Prophétie de l'Abeille by Keigo Higashino for this prompt.
This was the first book I had read for the challenge before I'd actually decided I was doing the challenge. It was Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
I was going to count The Fiery Cross for this prompt, but I just finished The Distant Hours by Kate Morton so I think I will use it instead :)
If you're looking for a book over 500 pages, I just finished reading When Christ and His Saints Slept
by Sharon Kay Penmanhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I read it in Danish and the number of pages is 609 so I think it counts for this prompt. I can see that the original version is under 500 pages. :)
I finished The Far Pavilions earlier this month. I happened to have quite a few books in my list that were already more than 500 pages, so i figured that based on that, a better challenge for me would be a book close to 1000 pages. It took quite a long time for me to read, but it was quite rewarding. It was such an interesting and exciting story about a young man trying to find balance in the very different worlds from which he comes. I did find the last bit of the book dragged on some, but the bulk of the 955 pages had me enthralled.
Interesting how many people read game of thrones or other books in the song of ice and fire series :) I did too

I remember the beginning dragging on for quite some time before it picked up, but once it did I really enjoyed it! I may have to reread it sometime!

If I had to guess, I was probably thoroughly invested in 700 pages of the 955. You know all the attempted assassinations, betrayals, love, youthful mistakes, actual assassinations, heartbreak, more betrayals, escapes, etc. I'll definitely want to reread it in a couple of years too.
I commented 7 months ago and said I would read Gone With The Wind - well, I ended up reading Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo instead. Over 1200 pages, took me a month and a half, but totally worth it because it was amazing! Definitely recommended!
