Keri (keri91) | 13 comments I'm going to try to take a stab at Gone with the Wind and hope I can do it. If not, probably The Goldfinch!

message 53: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hatfield | 5 comments I really enjoyed The Dome as an audiobook.

Lisa Hatfield | 5 comments For this prompt, I read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, which I thought would just be important stuff to know. It was actually a really excellent book. I had not realized it was written by an American reporter who covered Europe in the 20s, 30s and 40s, from all primary sources.

Kirsten (kmcripn) For this prompt, I read The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins.

I'm also currently reading Middlemarch by George Eliot and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas which would also qualify.

MissLemon | 3 comments I've just finished The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger , has anyone read it? Despite being so many pages I felt there could have been more to it, there was more I wanted to know. Anyone else feel this?

Golem and the Jinni was very good. I would recommend it over Life after Life.

I am in the minority with this book. I only gave it 2 stars. Felt it was just ok. I thought it was really hard to follow until I quit paying attention to the dates.

I have loved everything by Kate Atkinson that I have read. "Life after Life" is seriously different and I have had a hard time staying with it. My husband however prefers it over all of her other works.

Ray Jordan (rjordan1041) How many pages are in "All the Light We Cannot See"?

Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments 531 according to Amazon.

Tatiana (pluidenovembre) | 29 comments It's not what I had originally planned but I ended up reading La Prophétie de l'Abeille by Keigo Higashino for this prompt.

message 63: by Megan (new)

Megan (megabou) | 64 comments I read Gone with the Windby Margaret Mitchell.

message 64: by Jazs (new)

Jazs This was the first book I had read for the challenge before I'd actually decided I was doing the challenge. It was Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.

message 65: by Sara (new)

Sara I was going to count The Fiery Cross for this prompt, but I just finished The Distant Hours by Kate Morton so I think I will use it instead :)

message 66: by Jana (new)

Jana | 22 comments I read The Book Thief. Loved the storytelling!

message 67: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) If you're looking for a book over 500 pages, I just finished reading When Christ and His Saints Slept When Christ and His Saints Slept (Henry II & Eleanor of Aquitaine, #1) by Sharon Kay Penman by Sharon Kay Penman

All time favorite book ever! SO GOOD! <3

message 70: by Mikalina (new)

Mikalina Kopytko | 5 comments I read Two Brothers by Ben Elton for this prompt.

message 71: by Mikalina (new)

Mikalina Kopytko | 5 comments I read it in Danish and the number of pages is 609 so I think it counts for this prompt. I can see that the original version is under 500 pages. :)

Alexis O (saboknits) | 76 comments I finished The Far Pavilions earlier this month. I happened to have quite a few books in my list that were already more than 500 pages, so i figured that based on that, a better challenge for me would be a book close to 1000 pages. It took quite a long time for me to read, but it was quite rewarding.

It was such an interesting and exciting story about a young man trying to find balance in the very different worlds from which he comes. I did find the last bit of the book dragged on some, but the bulk of the 955 pages had me enthralled.

message 73: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments Interesting how many people read game of thrones or other books in the song of ice and fire series :) I did too

message 74: by Amy (new)

Amy Brack (amysue713) I read A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving for this one.

I read that book years ago! I remember the beginning dragging on for quite some time before it picked up, but once it did I really enjoyed it! I may have to reread it sometime!

Yeah, I found the book really picked up once Ash and Sita got to Gulkote and then I enjoyed that ride for hundreds of pages. If I had to guess, I was probably thoroughly invested in 700 pages of the 955. You know all the attempted assassinations, betrayals, love, youthful mistakes, actual assassinations, heartbreak, more betrayals, escapes, etc. I'll definitely want to reread it in a couple of years too.

message 77: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Johnson (michellecurates) | 85 comments That is a SERIOUSLY long book. WOW. I'm impressed.

message 78: by Keri (new)

Keri (keri91) | 13 comments I commented 7 months ago and said I would read Gone With The Wind - well, I ended up reading Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo instead. Over 1200 pages, took me a month and a half, but totally worth it because it was amazing! Definitely recommended!

message 79: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Johnson (michellecurates) | 85 comments That's also seriously impressive! Way to go.

message 80: by Brooke (new)

Brooke ♥booklife4life♥ (booklife4life) | 17 comments I read Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld for this one. 608pgs! biggest book i've read this year. unless i get Winter soon ;)
