Please comment on the following questions:

1. How realistic is Kya's upbringing in the marsh? Do you believe she really could have made it out there on her own?
2. In interviews, Delia Owens has said she wrote this book about feeling alone. How is that expressed in the novel?
3. Why do you think Kya's mother leaves in the beginning? Do you agree with her decision?

Cherise Saraceni | 5 comments 1.That girl woulda starved out there! Or gottin scurvy.

Cherise Saraceni | 5 comments 4. Seriously though I loved this book and my heart broke for kya. And I KNEW SHE DID IT. Good ending, not like the last book.

Lori Collins | 1 comments I don't think is was realistic that she could have survived.

Kya's siblings left her, her mother left her, her father left her, Tate left her although he did return. I guess you could also say Chase left her. Kya experienced so much loneliness and could not trust anyone.

Kya's mother could not take it anymore and was having a mental breakdown. But I still could not understand why she did not take Kya. She could have found them a way to a safe place. I don't know.

Loved the ending to the book. A surprise or two! I have to say I got teary eyed when Kya died and how Tate found her.
