2015 Challenge Goals
I've got more series than I'm willing to admit to. But here's what I'm setting as minimum goals for 2015.
1. Complete or get up to date in 20 series
2. Reach at least the halfway mark in at least 20 series
3. Complete all series with just one book remaining in the series.

I really only have one goal. Complete or get up to date with series I've already started before starting new series.
I looked at my series over the last week, got 109(!) series I plan to continue reading! So revised targets slightly.1. To get up to date or finish 19 series;
2. Not to have more than 100 series on the go this time next year!
3. Finish all series where got no more than two books to finish or get up to date on.
Laudable aims now can I achieve them?

I have a long list of series but my goals would be:1. Finish 15 series
2. Finish series with one or two books left
3. Start 8 series
4. Get to the sequels of series I haven't gotten around to

Yeah, I'm not deluding myself into thinking THAT won't happen:)

Completely agree! We seem to enable each other:)

You're smart to just plan for adding new series!

Haha I have been wanting to start a few series for awhile now. :D
1 complete all series with one book remaining2 reread Harry Potter and The golden compass series
3 finish 10 series
4 read two of the series I have complete but haven't started yet
Next year, I want more freedom in my reading so I'm not joining many challenges. However, here's what I want to do series-wise:1. Finish most series with one book remaining.
2. Read the next book in my neglected series and either continue reading them or just let them go.
1. Complete all series with 1 or 2 books remaining.2. Monthly reading plans will include no more than 1 book that does not benefit my 2-3-4 challenge.
3. Complete or get up to date on at least 15 series.
1. Finish series with 1 or 2 books left.2. Read at least 80 books
3. ??
I'm sure I'll think of more as the year goes on.
1.Complete or catch up on 20 series2. Finish or catch up with series with 1-3 books left
3. Make it halfway on another 10

Yeah, not gonna happen for me, lol!

I have 163 series on my list - whew!
My plans are:
1. Finish 12 series (one per month) - hopefully more.
2. Read the 2nd book in a series that has been languishing

Ok, you guys are making me feel a lot better with how many series you have on the go! I was going to only go for completing or catching up on 5 series but I think I may stretch that to 8. I also like the "reach halfway point on series" so to cut a long story short, here are my goals:1. Finish/catch up on 8 series
2. Reach halfway point on at least 5 series
3. Read the 2nd book on 5 series
My Revised Goals1. Start 20 New Series
2. Read the 2nd Book in 20 Series *
3. Get Current with at least 10 Series *

* Series started before 2015

Wow what a great set of goals. Go Jonetta!
My goal is to bring some of those really long series within 10 books of being up to date. Off the top I'm thinking In Death, Spenser, Bssch, Deleware, Barrington, Beaumont and many many more.
My goal is to read 55 books. I'm hoping most of those will come from series I'm continuing and/or catching up on and a few I want to start as well.
I just discovered that I'm not the only one with a huge TBR pile to read for those series. So this is simple:1. Finish 12 series
2. Start only 10 series this year
3. Read from my TBR pile before buying the next book on a series.
my 2015 goals reading goals are:1)Series: Finish 12 series, minimum. Assign one per month so I don't get sucked off track too badly...its a good idea in theory :-)
2) Non-fiction: Listen to or read at least 5 non-fiction books this year.
3) New-to-me authors: Try at least 5 new-to-me authors this year.
4) Don't over indulge. I've been decreasing my reading challenge every year for the last few years because I have been reading when I should be doing other things...bad girl. This year try to keep it in the ballpark of 100 book, but I don't count audiobooks of books I've already read before.
5) Goodreads; a) try to be a better participant in 2 groups I belong to. b) do better reviews.
I count audio books as books read. You don't? Well, I have to and I use them more than I used to so I can get other things done while reading. I may try to read at least 3 non-fiction books this year. I am into my 2nd one, so this may actually become a reality.
Dosha (Bluestocking7) wrote: "I count audio books as books read. You don't? ."Hey Dosha, normally I do but lately I've been listening to a lot of books that I have already read. For example, I have read the whole Elder Races series but through audible have now got them all on audio. I find myself putting on an audiobook that I already know I love for company while I'm painting or doing housework or something else that leaves my mind free. Its weird. Not that I don't listen as hard but I know if I miss a few seconds here and there I won't be lost.
If I listen to an audiobook that is a new book for me, I'll count it. Some of my non fiction books are on audio but I find I have to really pay attention and even maybe take notes if I want to learn something...then I can't really be too engaged in a different activity.
I am listening to an awesome one right now:
.its the updated version of one I listened to 25 years ago when my world was falling apart and it helped me alot.

Finished my first series, Myron Bolitar by Harlan Coben.
My goal is to finish several series that I have already started. Since I am basically a "series reader", I cannot promise I won't start any others. But, I would like to finish several that I have already started. Whether I have read 1 book of the series, or all but 2, I intend to finish several this year.
I going to start the troubleshooter series from the beginning. I read book 16 because it was a freebie, so I might as well do the whole series.
I didn't list my goal here but just on my page, so thought I'd add it here.I will pick and post here 8 series to complete or bring up to date in 2015
Revised Goals: Already can't stick to the series originally posted. New Goal: Read ahead in all series initially posted.
If read a book #1 in series that I want to continue, list it here and try to read book 2.

In your eight series goal...how many books will it take to get up to date (avg)? Are you close in any of them?

Since we all have different numbers of series with variable numbers of books within each series, it's impossible to set plain "number of series" goals for comparison. So, tell us what you're hoping to achieve with this challenge in 2015?
Thanks to Andrew for reminding me that it's a good idea to set a goal! I'll also set them up in the Reading Tracker as they're added here.
