It was a hint when he warned Sebastian away. Besides, it would be disappointing if Sebastian or Hero didn't have a chance to ask Jarvis if he has killed someone.

It didn't surprise me that Jarvis was involved. Of course it makes sense when we find out that Jarvis used the Count as a spy.
