The nominations thread for the 2nd Quarter 2020 Non-Fiction Read is now open, please suggest your book choices below.

Please remember that:
1. We do not allow self-promotion or self-published books.
2. All books need to be seconded by someone else in order to get to the voting stage and
3. Nominations must be readily available in as many formats as possible at a reasonable price.

This thread will remain open until the 17th April and then will be closed for voting. The joint runners up from last time go through automatically, so do not need to be nominated or seconded.

There are no categories, so feel free to nominate whatever you want. Either nominate or second a book, not both.

Nominated:

Nominated and Seconded:
The Last Wilderness, A Journey into Silence
The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper
The Etymologicon: A Circular Stroll through the Hidden Connections of the English Language

Charlie Miller | 23 comments I'm going to read it either way, but I'll also aim to read whichever title wins this vote and the fiction vote too. Plenty of interesting choices vying for selection as usual.. No plague choices yet, perhaps for the better

Karen O I’ll definitely second The Etymologicon!

Gosh, I've been meaning to read The Etymologicon for ages. Definitely a dusty shelf read! I really want to read The Five too, though, as it is supposed to be extraordinary. Just about to go on furlough for a bit so maybe I'll get time to catch up on both, you never know!

Nikki Mcgee | 209 comments I would also love to read Etymologicon
