Been keeping a very low profile since I haven't been feeling well. Since I'm among friends here, I hope, I have to vent. I went last Thursday for a COVID test. I have to self quarantine for 14 days. It will take about a week for results. So in the meantime I'm enjoying being able to spend time with my books. Wish me luck with my results. It could just be a mild case of the flu but you never know and I figured better safe than sorry and if it is positive I could never forgive myself if I got someone else sick.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear you're sick, Doreen! I'm surprised how long it takes for results. Supposedly around here some testing is as quick as 24 hours...which is surprising, as well, because we're not in a big area. I hope you feel better soon!

You would think it would be quicker since I live in Boston but since the test was free I have to go with what they said.

Emma | meadowroselibrary I hope you get to feeling better, Doreen, and get quick results!

Oh Doreen, I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I'm surprised at how many bugs are going around right now...I know it's the time of year for it but you'd think if all the Covid precautions worked even the common cold would be scarce. Anyway, we'll be praying that you feel better soon! πŸ€—πŸ™

Hi Doreen,
Gosh, I am sorry you haven't been feeling well.
I pray your test comes back negative.
It could the labs are behind.
You in good company with your books, they are
a comfort.
Please let us know if there is anything else we
can do for you.
I am pleased to see you. ❀ 😊

It was almost dark and my eyes aren't that good. I kept getting closer and closer but they were sooo fuzzy. I thought they must have been bears because they weren't running and I was getting pretty close. But then the white tails went up... πŸ˜‚

Pamela | 2209 comments It's okay to see bears in the distance, but rather unnerving close up. I've seen many over the years, but the closest ones I saw were females (Sows) with cubs who did not appreciate me being so near. I was out walking a few times and did not see them until I was nearly next to them! They were eating berries in the underbrush in the forest. I recommend NEVER to go walking during wild berry season! It happened to me more than once and I finally learned my lesson! Bears can climb, swim and run 35 mph! I'm too old to climb, too cold to jump in a lake, and cannot run 35 mph! Therein lies the problem!πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ»πŸ˜³

Pamela | 2209 comments Of interest...This is the last year they are allowing the annual bear hunt in New Jersey. Starting next year, no more bear hunting in that state. That means there will be lots more NJ bears who will swim across the Delaware River to Pennsylvania and end up in my backyard! Yippee!😝 For some reason the NJ bears always try to escape to PA! The PA Game Commission tag them and take them back, so that's how they know the bears are from NJ.

Oh wow, that would be a little intimidating! πŸ˜‚ Black bears would rather send their cubs up a tree than defend them, though.
